Can't run missions any more

I might have considered buying one, but on my system the game just locks up and won't run Quick Missions since the last update.

 

I really hope they realize that they've broken Tank Crew for some of us, and can figure out how to fix it.

I made one with the 4.603 QMB. Seems OK!

 

Yours loads in the editor OK, integrity also OK, but does not run in my 4.603 game.

I suspect something is wrong in your installed game files.

 

Disable the updates folder, start the Launcher, if that does not help, a fresh game installation usually fixes things.

Thanks, I've already tried the re-update routine with no improvement. This only seems to be  a problem with the Quick Missions, as the stock scripted missions do run, so the underlying game engine is not broken.

 

p.s. After an hour of uninstalling and reinstalling I'm back to the same issue with Quick Missions failing to load, and locking up the game.

Weird. I had a game lockup with a 4.602 mission in 4.603. Saved all items as a group file, and deleted all in the ME.

Then re-imported the group ... all was fine then in the game (i used this trick before also successfully with older game versions).

But that probably has nothing to do with your game installation.

 

Did you have that problem also with a vanilla (fresh) game installation? Maybe some remains from a mod screws things up ...

Ask -DED_Rapidus for help? He's got some tricks up his sleeve maybe  ...

Yes, all stock, fresh install, no mods. I only own Prokhorovka, so that may be part of the problem.

What are the steps for performing a re-update?  Is there a method to undo the last update?  I would like to try something to make the game function again as well.  At least, before I request a refund and/or write a bad review.

What about reinstall the game? For generations of gamers this is the trick. How old are you? You can not blame the game before be sure the problem is not on your side. On the other side the community here does not like like persons threatening the company. Maybe try to be more the solution of the problem, not the problem itself. Thank you.

As you seem to be so knowledgeable, and been around for generations, what are the steps for reinstallation of the game?  Thus far, I have not received any other advice to the problem caused by the update.  Thank you.

I dont think you have to reinstall, after updates like the recent one, i go into my missions and multiplayer dogfight folder and delete all the msbin files there, then open the mission editor and use the resave all files in folder tool there to update and recreate the msbin files, I have found not doing this will cause the problem you are having.

if you are on steam, check the game files, sometimes it works (the update sometimes forgets files ...), if not, and if you have a good connection, uninstall everything to reinstall everything ... (look on the general discussion of the last update, I think he talks about this problem ...) ... and in the end makes a bug report ... maybe the dev will look ..

J5_Mueller, I tried your suggestion, and thank you for them.  However, I did not find any msbin files.  Also, I only purchased Tank Crew.  Nothing else.  Not sure if that makes a difference.  Could I try simply deleting the game from my PC in its entirety?  Then re-downloading the game from my profile?

Reinstalling made no difference in my case. They're working on a bug report for me.

TYVM for this  Intel it fixed my missions just as you said!

But  I to still have issue with the Quick missions not starting. oddly enuf the easy mission generator works tho

your very welcome, im glad i could help.

Alpha, look for the msbin files inside of your missions folder, as well as the multiplayer dogfight folder, you should be able to find them there.
