jollyjack Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 Do we need to leave them be: f.i. a fire_small.group file has a *. chs, *.fra, *.ger file and more with them. Can you just delete these?
AEthelraedUnraed Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) You can just delete them. I believe the game defaults to English (.eng) if it can't find the proper localisation files for the language in the game settings. Edited August 13, 2021 by AEthelraedUnraed 1
Sketch Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) If you don't want to support other languages, you can remove them. Those players with their game set to anything that you've removed will not get subtitle messages. I assume you'll only support English. If so, and my game is set to German (and you have removed all other language files except English), I will not get any subtitle messages since there is no German language file. What I do instead (if I want to support other languages with translations) is: Open the English file with a text editor (like Notepad, Notepad++, or Visual Studio Code) Copy the text in the English file. Then I open all the other languages files Replace the text of the other language files by pasting the text of the English file into the file ???? Save obviously PROFIT Now if I have German as my game language, I'll get subtitle messages (but they'll be in English). EDIT: Why did this get moved out of the mission editor forum? It's clearly a mission editor question. Edited August 13, 2021 by Sketch

It seems this is automatically made by the system.
Sketch Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Ahhh cool! It definitely did not do this before, or maybe I did something wrong. Glad it's doing what it should!

Then there must have been some changes after the last time I tried... I'm not sure about subtitles, maybe that was implemented before But I'm sure about Icon descriptions etc... Working with language setting in editor and renaming them by hand (from the default 'Icon Desc' or whatever is plased as 'basic' in english setting) after adding icons will result in 'changes only made in english language file'. All other languages show the 'preset default' Deci
