Custom Ammo Belts in single player and quick missions?.

I haven't played cliffs of dover for a while but when I checked it, I can change it in options/plane but then I can't select my custom loadout in single player missions and quick missions.

 

I know I can edit the mission in the Full mission editor and then select the custom loadout from there but I just don't want to do that with every mission I want to play.
