Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 12, 2021 Posted August 12, 2021 IL-2 Tank Crew performed an update yesterday. Update version unknown. After initiating IL-2 Tank Crew, selecting a German tank, selecting a section to engage in, the lower right START button disappeared. There was no method to begin the scenario. How can this be corrected?
Thad Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 What do you mean "selecting a section to engage in"? ?
Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 14, 2021 Author Posted August 14, 2021 After selecting a tank and ammo, the offline mode gives option to select one of four tank sections. Where the Artillery, Anti-Aircraft, Tanks, Trains appear.
Ghost666 Posted August 14, 2021 Posted August 14, 2021 I believe you are referring to the labels at the bottom of the map screen. From left to right should be "weather and Time", "Ground Targets", "realism" and "start". If you click on Ground Targets the Artillery, Anti-Aircraft, Tanks, Trains appear. If you place a check mark beside any one/all of these that type of target will be waiting for you after you spawn. To close this menu just click the x in the upper right, your selections will be saved. then hit the green start button. I hope this helps.
Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 15, 2021 Author Posted August 15, 2021 Yep. I do all that. Press START once, the game says it is loading, then goes back to the same map screen. However, all the bottom options are missing. The only option is to use Windows TASK MANAGER and end the game. Thus, at the moment, this game is useless.
Ghost666 Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Ok, Have you contacted customer support? Just a couple questions, 1)when you bring up Task Manager dose it say that IL-2 is not responding? 2)Instead of using Task Manager to close the game have you tried using L-Alt + F4? 3)are you using the native resolution for your monitor?
Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 15, 2021 Author Posted August 15, 2021 Task Manager did not show IL-2 as not responding. L-Alt -F4 closed IL-2. I do not know what Native resolution is. Does version 4.603 require this? The last version did not.
Ghost666 Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 If L-Alt -F4 closed IL-2 then the game was not lock-up. What I am thinking is that the image of the map is larger then your screen so you can't see the bottom of the map. Try going to "settings" then "graphics" and try lowering the Screen resolution. The screen resolution should match the screen resolution for your desk top, this is your native resolution. I have had my in game screen resolution changed by a up-date before.
Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 16, 2021 Author Posted August 16, 2021 I appreciate the suggestion. I lowered the resolution to one that was smaller than my monitor. After all the same selections, the buttons at the bottom disappeared.
MajorMagee Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 (edited) I have the exact same problem and I've always run the game at my default screen resolution. This only started with 4.603, and the offline, single player, quick missions. Other scripted missions still work so it's not the game engine itself, just the built in quick missions generator that used to start successfully. It's when they fail to start, and it dumps you back to the Quick Mission selection screen, that the buttons at the bottom disappear making it impossible to navigate off the screen back to the main menu. Alpha-KelvyKelv Posted August 17, 2021 Author Posted August 17, 2021 Yep. That's exactly what is happening. I did purge the game from my PC. Re-download and -install the game. The same results. No buttons. This is a week now without a resolution from the game's creators. Not good.
Ghost666 Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 Ok, I'm out of ideas. Sorry I could not help. Good Luck. ☹️
