3090 Extreme vs 3080Ti Extreme (Gigabyte). What difference would the slightly extra spec make in any VR game? Not much if anything I suspect.

Maybe in DCS or FS2020 you would see the difference, but not in Il-2. Definitely the performance difference doesn't justify the price difference.

Three years from now, the 12GB of Video memory on the 3080Ti could be a bottleneck, but not right now.

I am noticing that not all RTX 3090's are 3-pin powered. The 2-pin 3090's would seem like an even poorer value for the money.

Yeah, I read a tester commenting on that and he said it was highly detrimental to the card's performance and couldn't understand why they'd done it. All over my head technically to be honest.

Each eight pin connector is restricted to a maximum of 150W,if I remember correctly, so 2x8pin  connector +300W total power and 3x 8pin connector =450W maximum card power.

My 3080Ti has three connectors and I hooked al of them to individual wires from the PSU.

Even 2-pin 3080's will draw 350W so undervolting is a must.
