Hello all, I am getting more and more frustrated as I try to begin learning the game. I have a couple of issues where some keybinds that I bind to some HATs don't work.

For example, water and oil radiator axis binds aren't working when binding on a 4-way hat, TRIM binds are not working when binding it to the POV HAT (I play in VR).

The game allows me to bind the buttons, it detects it and everything, but once ingame, nothing happens when pressed! Could someone please help me

Also, if I have a SHIFT function setup on my stick, how do I utilize that ingame? How do I bind something to the SHIFT version?

ATTACHED are screenshots of the settings I'm having issues with. The Elevator trim axis used to be on the POV HAT as well, but I got frustrated and just put it on the  mouse scroll wheel

Okay, a couple of basic questions first. Sorry if this seems pedantic, but let's start with the basics and go from there:

  1. What realism settings are you using? I ask because under some realism settings, you will not be able to control complex engine management such as radiators and RPM.
  2. What plane are you flying? I ask because many (most?) planes do not have aileron trim tabs. Most have some kind of elevator trim, but fewer have rudder trim, and even fewer have aileron trim.

I have the older Gladiator, and to bind something or use it during the game, I push the button located on the stick with my pinky and hold it down when pressing the button with the alternative (shifted?) function. Ususlly for me this is to fire different weapons using the trigger, depending on a/c. I have a lot of buttons that I can use shifted, but I find that is generally too many to keep track of while flying and I just use key commands for the commands that exceed my many buttons.

Did you make sure that the keybinds you assigned to your joystick can be "HELD" as long as you hold the key?  If not, none of the Axis commands will work, just like firing your guns, it has to be a hold command or you fire one bullet and yer done because the game saw a "Pulse"command and not a hold command.  It's a common mistake I make al the time when I'm assigning commands to TMWH using TARGET software. Just as an example I have Trim, yaw, pitch, roll set up on the Warthog stick POV/Trim button, and they are all HOLD commands.  Same with Input/Output Cowls, Water/Oil Radiators, guns, and Zoom, RPM, Mixture, Gunsight adjusts...

This!

Plese tell us exactly what plane and what key command its not working, so we can try to figure it out...

As an example,as far as I know,  you can assing elevator trim key, and it wont work on 109 and 190, because they use adjustable stabilizers...

You can assing the same key bindings to both elevator trim and adjustable stabilizer to sort of avoid this fact, but its not the only one, so a little more detail on your issue could be helpfull

A good example of why it would be better to have a per plane controller setup GUI.
