Battle of Normandy - Premium Edition Planes

Recommended Posts

I know the map is not out for a few months. My question is what player flyable planes are currently released and available now as of 8/21?

The following are out and playable already:

Bf109G6 late

Fw 190 A6

P-47 D22 razorback

Hawker Typhoon

Spitfire Mk XIV

If you take your mouse and move it up in the 1100 o'clock position you will see the IL*2 Sturmovik title, click on that, and go to the Store and the Battle of Normandy will appear on your monitor with all the information you would want to know, like the list below.

  • 2 Collector Planes (Spitfire Mk.XIV and Ar 234)
  •  8 Battle of Normandy Aircraft (P-51B/C, P-47D “Razorback”, Typhoon Mk.Ib, Mosquito F.B. Mk.VI, Bf 109 G-6 “Late”, FW 190 A-6, JU-88 C-6a and Me 410)

If you bought the premium version of BoN you should have the released aircraft in the above list, if not, the Spitfire/Ar-234 are extra... (Collector planes)

Usually the map is the last major piece of content to come out. Likely by end of the year or early next. In the meantime, most of the Normandy content works exceptionally well with Bodenplatte including the Career mode which integrates the Normandy aircraft (mostly by virtue of them all being still in service).

Buy Bodenplatte now within this sale. Premium edition is currently down to a laughable 27.19 USD. All as of yet released early access Normandy planes are integrated in the SP-career of Bodenplatte.

Store / IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles (il2sturmovik.com)

Then buy BoN later this year while it is still in early access.

Now its time to buy BoBp when is on sale if you dont have it, and if you decide to buy BoN you could use some airplanes you get in it on BoBp map as they histricly fit there, map is usealy last thing that get added in early acces.

I find it hard to understand the collector plane names like AR 234.
Sure everyone knows what is MP40 weapon and how it looks like, what is a BF109 and how it looks like, but less known planes especially if you are not WWII hardcore enthusiast will be hard to undestand.

For example, is the Collector Plane "C-47 Skytrain" is actually the AR 234 or a different plane? Should I buy it on sale if I already have Battle of Normandy Premium edition on my account?

I vote +1 for all the previous suggested feedback from other players - please add indicator in the store whenever you already have a product on your account or not. E.g if you buy Premium edition, mark premium planes as bought.

It's on this page, after you hit your name at top right hit profile and log in, you can go to the store/purchases page and lo and behold you get this page that shows everything you have bought from 1C, not sure about that if you gave your money to steam instead of Jason and the team how you will find out what you have.  I stay away from the other vendor at all costs.

Yep. Still a lot to do and I don´t think they will manage to release one plane per month. My guess would be end Q1 earliest, more likely Q2 2022. But that doesn´t matter. I like to wait for a good product.

P51-B/C

Mosquito Mk.VI

Me 410

Ju 88 C6

B26 (AI)

Arado 234

Doodlebug

Map

Career Mode

C-47

What are the current odds it will be the P-51B/C next out?.................  Even being in a virtual Pony squadron, I'm really wanting the Mosquito more than the B/C pony...

Well, shoot! ..... in your last post you said you bought BoN Premium, in that case you need not spend another schekle on any thing unless you want to gift it too someone. YOU HAVE everything released so far....... so enjoy them..... as for the rest....... Patients........ just like the rest of us. As for understanding what the heck an AR-234 is? GOOGLE AR-234,or........ YOUTUBE..... search AR-234. It really works, I  just tried it to see.

Good luck

Zeev,

The [flyable] C-47 and AR 234 are different planes, and both called "Collector" planes in this game.  If you bought BON Premium, the store shows you that it includes AR 234 and Spit XIV collector planes - ONLY those 2.  BON also includes the AI C-47, but not a flyable version.

The flyable C-47 will be a different & separate collector plane, which must be bought separately, as it is not included in any major title (BON, BOP, etc.).

Like Hoss said, a few minutes looking through the store should make it clear, but basically:

  • SOME collector planes are included in various "premium" game titles (2 per title).
  • ALL collector planes may be purchased separately, as desired/needed.
  • If you attempt to purchase* a plane or any other product you already own, the store prevents it - the only option will be "purchase as gift."

* If purchasing throught the IL-2 website.  Not sure if this works when purchasing through Steam.  In any case I agree it would be helpful if it was very obvious which items you already own (both on the website and in Steam).  For now, the store's system prevents buying anything twice for yourself.

In the Store/Purchases it tells you what you bought and your license's.   it will list which game you purchased.. (BoN Premium) or not.... and what collector planes, campaigns, etc..... The IL2 Sturmovik banner at the top of the page, when you take your mouse there it goes from a pointer arrow to a finger... i.e. left click me and we are going somewhere else.....

Blue2, this is not directed to you...... I had a long answer earlier today for this, and just deleted it... figured what the heck... I'm done.... Horse/water...

Cheers m8...
