G'day All

For some time I have had a Saitek Rhino X-55 secreted away up in the cupboard awaiting the demise of my trusty old CH controllers.

Even though the CH controllers still manage to soldier on admirably, I was keen to break out the Saitek controllers to see if I could utilise the multitude of switches these controllers are adorned with to better handle all the advanced aircraft management, something which both me and the CH controllers do no longer seem to cope with as well these days.

The first hurdle with any possible change over is that it appears there was no software packed with my Rhino, which you'd think should not be much of an an issue, however when I went to the Saitek site to download the Software and drivers, the site sadly comes up as being insecure and so any attempts to download from the links provided, just result in blank page hangs.

Long story short, has anybody out there got sets of both the support software and the drivers for Win 10 that they'd kindly be able to upload somewhere for me to grab?

Cheers

You „antivirus“ is insecure as well. But given for instance also Gigabyte just got ransomwared (see here: https://esupport.gigabyte.com/ )as any Windows run backend is by design prone to, there is no secure site out there, at least in the literal sense of the word.

If you are insecure about a site or download, test it here:

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/

The drivers are utter garbage, but they do the job. You snake oil will not prevent you from beeing attacked beyond what is possible as protection by other means, but they can make your life misearble. And they surely open you up for another, popular method of attack.

You can download from Saitek. I did it. I lived.

G'day Zach.

Thanks for the reply and the link to the filter site, however my issue is with downloading from the page links, this issue appears to be a security setting within chrome, I have tried to relax these settings for the Saitek site, yet I still just get hangs to blank when I try to download. As chrome and edge share the same settings, the result is the same for both platforms.

The links themselves (below) seem just fine, and it would appear that an overriding security setting is preventing the download process to a designate drive location.

ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/x55_rhino/win8/X55_Rhino_7_0_55_13_x64_Software.exe

(even though this link is the same as the one for win8)

ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/full/x55_rhino/win10/X55_Rhino_7_0_55_13_x64_Drivers.exe

I do not think that my virus protection is the cause, as this is never too shy to display huge warning banners, that assure me to proceed would result in imminent death and possibly the end of the world as I know it.

My want for the drivers is just to enable the computer to properly recognise my controllers beyond the generic, and I would like to have the support software to check things like calibration.

Cheers

Somtimes it helps using an alternative browser, like Edge that comes by default and also has the built in filter. If that one doesn‘t predict imminent end of the world, you can download with that one.

I usually kick downloads on virustotal before touching them, but Vonrd gave a good link. It is important using thise drivers, else you‘ll have problems.
