Neither Bug nor Issue, but would make life creating missions much easier....

Hi there

I know the devs are quite busy,

so please consider this as a 'wanted but not needed instantly' feature....

On creating complex missions and filling airfields with runway markings (land_canvas), landlights and searchlights

I always end up with the same problems...

Every marking (land_canvas) MUST be placed as a vehicle (no other way) WITH entity (and eats recources due to that)

Every land/searchlight MUST be placed as a vehicle WITH entity, too

and the only difference between the land/searchlights for different nations is the optical layout (+ uniforms of the soldiers using it)

Trying to create the lights/land_canvas as 'neutral' will result in an 'attacked by xxx ground units' marking on the map for any airfield

until the nation is set (using further units or  MCU's and a delay)

As the 'nation' for the searchlights is needed (knowing if the illuminated plane is friend or foe)

it has to be set (by behaviour or on creating)

So finally:

As a mission builder

- I would strongly recommend removing the 'land_canvas' as a vehicle (requesting entity)

- making it a static object (no entity needed)

- removing the 'nation bound' land/searchlights

- replacing them by only 1 land/searchlight (where nation can be assigned by behaviour or creating it)

- having neutral units NOT create an 'attacked by xxx' message for airfields

A neutral unit is NOT located on enemies nation...

- It should neither shoot not react on any other unit

- It should not be reported as enemy (in this case attacking unit) anywhere on the map

- It should not be assigned as a target to any AI

- But killing/damaging it should be noted as '... neutral' instead of '... friendly'
