abrupt large city fires ...

Is there a trick to make large city fires appear less abrupt after a bomb drop?

I'd like to experiment a little, but i am afraid it's another time waster .... maybe some of you have tried already?

Perhaps start with a few smaller fires/smoke (e.g., cityfiresmall_loop and villagesmoke_loop) and then start the city fire.

Tried that, but all of a sudden it's there, poof, with a sky high smoke column.

Usually fires expand from start with smoke gradually increasing.

Maybe that's only possible with another separate effect set we could light a candle for with the devs?

Gotta be a pretty huge candle then, if you want it to grow into the city fire ;)

But no, apart from what JimTM suggested, there's currently no way.

Place a cow in the O'Leary's barn.......(we do have cows and barn objects).......

Make the cows a linked entity then link an Activate MCU to the cows.........

Where are the cows. I was looking for animals like dogs, horses, sheep and cows.

In my search to make things a little more alive I found a bycicle.

Where are the cows please?

Thanks

A little over 1/2 way down the >>Blocks<< list towards the end of the "town_eu_xxx" entries;

COWS:  town_eu_objgrp_01
HORSES: town_eu_objgrp_02

I haven't tried - it might be possible to modify the timers in the effects files though?

Somewhat sketchy, but I had some luck changing the height (Y) so that a series of smoke effects after an extra explosion effect (there's one that generates a nice puff of smoke) is rendered starting under the ground and then the next one a little higher, etc. This also can be used with the other smoke types to add some variation and not have all smoke stacks look like carbon copies.
