That USAAF Bomber pilot would look great in the seat of a   B-24........just saying :)

Oh boy 4-enginers are painful to be falsely fantasizing about. If I had the choice between the Pacific, Korea and a "Battle of the Ruhr" type module just with AI-B-17's I'd likely choose that as much as I'd love to see the other two.

Great DD - very informative and mouth-watering.

Sounds fantastic, thanks for the hard work, the team is really pumping.

And last but not least - Jason is beginning to plan future projects that you’ll likely learn about late this year or early next year as we work feverishly to finish Battle of Normandy.

Also, many of you know we are working on new cloud technology for the sim. This should bring our clouds up to a new level of beauty, variety and realism. We also plan to work with a talented community member on this project and we hope it will bear fruit in the coming months. But before we get into worrying about artistic quality, we need to perfect the technology part of it. And we think, based on early tests, that these clouds will also improve performance, but yield a prettier result. We’ll have pictures for you once we have something worthwhile to show you.

Better performance is always welcome. I wonder if cloud technical improvements will eventually translate into similar gains with smoke; both large conflagration effects and individual plane/vehicle fires.

Just a B-24 would be enough :)

Well if we get night bombers we also need the He177 for German night bombing and some 110s with radar for night interception

Ok, you won, we need a Lancaster, a B24 and a B17.

And while they're at it, they can start working on a Halifax too.

Have a nice day.

Once more, only good and marvelous news from the developers front. Yes, there are some delays but delays are not important. The end result is always of the highest standards and that is the final victory given to us all sim players. Thank You all. :salute::salute::salute:?

First of all, thank you to 1CGS/777 for all of your hard work these past years, it's amazing. I greatly enjoy this game and the planes, maps, campaigns, and features that you've added in the past years, and look forward the features you plan to add in the coming updates such as Drop Tanks and AQM.

But with all do respect, in regards to Flying Circus, I just find it totally unnecessary as it gives barely anything new from RoF save for 2 collector planes, the price isn't worth the content it gives and people who actually support RoF got at most a $10 discount out of $70 US, the devs knowingly started development of FC1 without a Pilot Career mode, after watching Renzic's FC crashes and other FC videos: the crashes are slapstick, many things are too WW2, the DM is broken, and unless you're a VR user the differences between RoF and FC are negligible.

Also, as someone who got Rise of Flight in the late summer of 2016 and bought a lot of DLCs from then till November 2017 when FC was announced, I feel cheated as if I had known that there was going to be FC and each installment would have 10 planes and cost $100 CDN, I would have gotten the Channel Battles and the Ilya Muromets DLCs and stopped there.

FC is just getting in the way of too much of the developers time and resources that could very well be spent on other things that a lot more people have shown an interest in such as Battle of Normandy, Tank Crew, the C-47, Li-2, and IAR 81, not this.

Overall, I feel that it would have been better to just get another team to continue supporting RoF while the devs continue supporting IL-2 GBs instead of doing Flying Circus. I mean, people have said that after 6 years it was time to move on from RoF, it's currently been almost 7 years since Battle of Stalingrad was released so I guess after BoN the devs should move on from IL-2 GBs.

That's just how I feel.

Man, this ship as sailed. But always good to get all out.

------

"9 new positions" that seems like a doubling of the development team.

Please tell me that the improved clouds will also change the SkyDome colors, it's too bluish for me and I feel that damage my eyes preventing me to play the sim :(

Well. TF doesn’t do tanks. Also as far as I understand it it’s just a friendly agreement not to step on each other’s toes. No contract

We don't do tanks, though. I'd certainly be interested in seeing a TC module set in North Africa, especially if it included a Lee/Grant. Would be nice to have a short-barreled Panzer IV F.1 to use in North Africa and Stalingrad, too.

As a big Thank You to the team I -too- bought the only thing I did not yet have ... the Sd.Kfz. 10/5 Flak 38 !

If we look at the break-neck speed at which new IL-2 GB content is being delivered and the good quality of it ... makes it all the more amazing.

And now a number of people will be joining their team team !

So, IMHO, the very best thing we can do to get even more content asap is to do just that : in honor of this dedicated development team pre-order ... *everything*.

Well lot's of great speculation, if we get 1% of these...it'll be great. However, we shall have to wait and see and what's already promised looks great, THANKS DEV's

Thanks for all these good news. Drop tanks are indeed long awaited, and a new cloud technology I applaud. I hope this new technology will not only improve visually the clouds and interaction with sunlight, as well as a richer variety of could types and more of the vertical type like Cumulo Nimbus types small or large etc. but also will improve on the interaction between plane and cloud. The plane visibility when penetrating a cloud and the plane view with a cloud in background, or viewing a plane through a not so dense cloud. At the moment all these cases are not satisfactory and we understood that the presently used technology simply did not allow for any improvement on that.

So changing technology may be able to solve these problems.

Finally rain and snow fall. For me these two meteorological events are very poorly simulated. So if this can also improve that would be the cherry on top of the cake.

Now on the announcement of the future campaign after BoN I think still that a full fledged Pacific Air-Land-Sea Campaign is a too big effort at least with the level of quality that Jason is trying to keep so far. I have no clue what is planned but a way to have a step on that direction would be to have the Flying Tigers Campaign.

This should not be a too big investment. We have the C47 flying over the hump. We have the P40, the map is not too different than Kuban, small villages little larger cities, rivers. The vegetation is different and has to be cared for but all in all that not too much. There are two three Japanese planes to do like the Zero, the Betty bomber and maybe one or two other models and that should be good enough. Yes you need to model the Japanese pilots and crew, but you have already the US ones.

So such a project could be a very acceptable investment and a first step even chronologically correct towards a future Pacific campaign.

Wouldn't it be easier to do Korea, West Germany 1950-1955, Eastern Germany 1945, Italy 1944, Battle of Britain, Battle of France, Sicily, North Africa... plus anniversary edition expansions to existing modules? Not to mention a couple more FC releases (Channel? Adriatic?).

;) I tease though... Midway would be quite interesting too... and I hope that references can be found.

And making some more (early and later) models of the P40 wouldn't be too hard too and they would fit right into a Flying Tigers theatre.

Good idea.

Have a nice day.

I've always been interested in the CBI Theatre...  Flying the Hump, Flying Tigers, and all that.  What a map that would be !  Great idea !

BlitzPig_EL

Unfortunately the CBI and the Flying Tigers would not pass muster with the CCP, can't have Nationalist marking flying over the mainland you know, so they would block the whole Great Battles Series from sale on the mainland.

Now, back to North Africa, those saying we already have all the tanks and it would bring nothing new, the Matilda, Valentine, Stewart, Lee/Grant, Italian armor, and a raft of armoured cars and various trucks, would like to have a word with you.
