6high Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Given that we can't even adjust the gunsights in any way, Geez, i forgot to whine about that one
FokkerH Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 As usual thanks for the update. And now please guys and girls (?) turn of the computers, get up and leave your windowless office, step out into the sun and the real world and enjoy the summer, your youth, your strength, your achievements and the best days of your life. There will come a day when you look back at all this and; shaking your head will say: "That was crazy! But we did it."! Master I agree with MasterMariner, life is first !!. ( I would not want that to happen to me and less in summer) Thanks for Update Regards Héctor
Brano Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Just half an hour and I am off office.Girls in Slovakia with summer outfits that reveal more then hide are waiting Have a beer or 2 = 12 2
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I have a lovely day of flying followed by a BBQ and beer drinking lined up tomorrow........but it's all going to be ruined by rain it seems........so less talk of beer thanks...
SYN_Lt_Dan Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 just stick the Gazebo up mate and let the beer flow 1
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 You're right, rain never gets in the way of a good British BBQ............just found out somebody has hired a bouncy castle just for me too so it's happy days again. 3
Darek Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Zak: But actually we all here in our small Moscow office (which doesn’t even have windows BTW) Do you have any pictures of your places of work? I'm curious how it looks ...
BeastyBaiter Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 A little dial on the Fw 190 instrument board that allows to increase or decrease the intensity of illumination of all gauges. But my eyes! Must ensure gauges are bright enough but not too bright. Good to hear the La-5 will be on hand this weekend. I've been wanting to try it out. That said I don't think it will fair well. Once above about 1500m, both 109's completely outclass it in every possible way. I suspect I won't get to fly it much, but I'll get a lot of time shooting them down in the 109G2. Poor buggers.
Hoots Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Beer, bouncy castle and BBQ! Christ on a bike that's a fine weekend bongo! I was gOing to be gliding tomorrow but it looks like a day for circuits only... 1
SCG_Neun Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 You're right, rain never gets in the way of a good British BBQ............just found out somebody has hired a bouncy castle just for me too so it's happy days again. Mind your little fontanelle....
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Mind your little fontanelle.... Don't worry, my skull has been fully crash tested. 1
Blitzen Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Would have loved to have seen a few screen shots of the Fw-190 or the He-111 even if they are a ways away...
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I don't think the 190 is that far away, surprised we got no screenie of it.
Voidhunger Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) I don't think the 190 is that far away, surprised we got no screenie of it. Haven´t you see the screenshots of the Fw 190? Edited June 27, 2014 by Voidhunger
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I saw one ages ago, just thought we'd get some more
Voidhunger Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) OK but there were more screens then one Edited June 27, 2014 by Voidhunger
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 A little dial on the Fw 190 instrument board that allows to increase or decrease the intensity of illumination of all gauges. I'm sure you guys will just let us turn it on and off, instead of adjusting the levels.
DD_Arthur Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Do you have any pictures of your places of work? I'm curious how it looks ... Check this out ikeos; http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=18481 Since this article was written they've either moved offices or had the windows bricked up but you get the gist of the thing. 1
II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 As I said: I think we're already seeing a beginning trend on the Stalingrad map. Honestly I think the main incentive for people to start flying "realistically" and not just seek quick action is a harder penalty for getting shot down. Right now there is the same waiting time to spawn regardless of how your flight ended. In fact, there is a shorter wait to exit the sim, if your plane is obliterated. Have a 30 sec waiting period to respawn if your pilot was killed/captured, a 15 sec delay if you bailed/crash landed in friendly territory and 5 sec if you landed safely at home base. Suddenly the quick action over the enemy airfield doesn't sound that appealing. But there is also this to keep in mind: Except for the few people flying the Pe-2, there is little incentive for VVS pilots to fly above 2k alt. Why put yourself at a performance disadvantage, if you can just stay really low and force the 109s to fight your fight? I've brought up the re-spawn issue before and I agree there should be a longer wait to re-join. Don't like being dragged over an enemy airstart only to watch him pop out and then reappear above me a few seconds later. It was being exploited really bad on the EU Light server by a whole squadron last week. It looked like the blinking of Christmas lights there for a while. I'll be moving to the Expert server more often anyway. I enjoy furballs now like I never did in the original series but it's time to gear up for flight when the full game is released.
LLv34_Flanker Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 S! Well that was some promotional speech Thanks for the info on update. Have a nice weekend all.
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 OK but there were more screens then one No cockpit shots though I recall.
sturmkraehe Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) +1 Finkeren. Actually kind of feels as if the german side gets a little small part of all the love with all red planes finished since months and 2 germans still left out. Well see how the LA performs against the 109. Hopefully it doesnt outturn AND outrun the 109. And btw. I dont want to start a FM discussion here. Just an expressed hope. Coming from a guy who didn't mind to fly exclusively planes that outrun and outturn anything on the opposing side for months :D I know, advantages are nice, in particularly if one has the monopoly on then... Livai Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Those who claim IL2:BOS to be nothing more than ROF with different planes and maps have no idea on how incredibly wrong they were. Our code guys are relentless. The constantly work on newly added graphical technologies and fresh content, and neverending game optimization - they always know what to do and how to bring the project closer to their ideals Finally someone maybe remember me. My voices are maybe heard. I still say that RoF looks better than BoS if I replace the Lightning System,Skydome from BoS to RoF and add more Polygone to RoF, too. Thats true, RoF look from above better than BoS! How the BoS Sprite Trees look from above compared to RoF and the draw distance. Thats very far from realistic. If that are the new added graphical technologies and fresh content I would say its like the huge uncompressed unnecessary 32bit Texture for Lok,Tanks,Buildings,Pilots,Ships that CloD used to look sharp. I converted all texture to DXT5 and I can play CloD with Ultra Settings now with a AMD HD 6550D Graphiccard and the game look still sharp. And thats call I graphical technologies. The game optimization that I see at the moment I would call it a simple cheat not more. There are graphical technologies that can be used to raise the bar without cheating...... The world today is not programmed well. Where are the times where things are made for centenary?
SYN_Vorlander Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) when will the update be released? Edited June 27, 2014 by SYN_Vorlander
sallee Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks, Zak and all! I have a lovely day of flying followed by a BBQ and beer drinking lined up tomorrow........but it's all going to be ruined by rain it seems........so less talk of beer thanks... I've managed to master the technique of drinking beer indoors. I thought it might come in handy one day, and it did! Let me know if you need some tips. Simple two-stage process really. 3
DD_bongodriver Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 They don't let me indoors in case I crap on the carpet
sallee Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 They don't let me indoors in case I crap on the carpet Glad my family aren't as picky.
Livai Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 yet any news on when the patch comes? Downloading 167,16 MB now.
s8n Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 failed to update ... tried 5 times...same outcome everyone else having this problem? anyone?
IIN8II Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Thanks for the update! Adding the La-5 to MP is a welcome surprise. Still inferior to the 109's but it will be nice to see how it performs. Those twin 20mm's will be nice for BnZ I think. All this talk of beer.... Must go get beer! Cheers!
smink1701 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I'm traveling for the next few days and not able to play… If you could let me know what you're seeing in the update I would really appreciate it
Volkoff Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 This weekend should be a lot of fun! Thanks for the update and info. MJ
Finkeren Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Well, my first stint in MP confirmed, that the La-5 won't be that much of a game changer in online play. I was forced to fly German flying against perhaps 75% La-5s, and in little over half an hour I scored 9 kills and 1 assist and was only truly shot down twice (two times I had to bail Hartmann style - because my plane was struck by parts coming off my last victim) This is much, much better than I normally do in MP. Granted, most of these La-5s were flown poorly, as to be expected when a plane is new in MP, but twice I met quite good opponents who started with an altitude advantage and tried using fast, slashing attacks, and in both sistuations it was a matter of seconds before I had reversed the situation. The La-5 seems to be doing worse in MP, than I anticipated.
LLv34_Flanker Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 S! The first series La-5's were no world beaters when introduced to combat, so your observations are spot on Finkeren. Outclassed by both Bf109F-4 and Bf109G-2, even de-rated.
Finkeren Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Yeah I know. Somehow I just expected the heavy armament and high low level top speed to have more of an impact. The vast majorities of my fights took place below 2000m and the La-5s were never ever faster than me, which I'm not saying they should be, but with boost some people can make them go 570 km/h at treetop level. I saw nothing like that online tonight, and I even once ran from a La-5 with my engine busted and running at 60%.
LLv44_Mprhead Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I would assume that most have not mastered La-5 yet. I think it's one of those planes you actually have to know best settings to get it perform. At least it should be.
