Na-zdorovie Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 just wondering if anyone has any experience opening these up? what i want to do if possible is to disconnect the trim wheels, all 3 of them, they always jitter and too easy to move by accident then wonder why you have no trim, plus i use on other buttons so never use them, hoping is as simple as undoing and disconnecting them
Sokol1 Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 (edited) The "trim wheels" in CH sticks are just mechanical adjust that off-center the potentiometer, don't cause jitters. * They have no specific use in USB controllers, they are just leftover from the DOS/Win95 era when these joysticks were designed, used for calibration. If want you can put these wheels in their center notch then apply hot glue or perhaps an screw for fix then and so avoid unwanted movement while playing. * What cause jitters are dirt and/or worm out resistive tracks in potentiomers, if you have this problem open and clean the pot's, or if are too bad replace, they are available in Digikey - sticks use the REPPOT604 in X,Y and throttle dial axes: https://www.digikey.com/en/products/filter/accessories/881?s=N4IgjCBcoLQdIDGUBmBDANgZwKYBoQB7KAbXAAYAWckAXQF9Gg Edited August 2, 2021 by Sokol1 1
JumpnShootman Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 This thread on the ED forums has a vendor that makes a lot of parts to modernize CH stuff, including drop in hall effect pot replacements if the pots do actually start jittering. https://forums.eagle.ru/topic/214485-ch-products-upgrades/ 1 1
