Guys, I've just updated the game, and now it doesn't even start anymore. It freezes the PC before even loading the slash screen. All I get is the tiny blue circle. Having this after receiving an update with no content of interest is very disappointing. I've already tried deleting the updates. The launcher analyzed the files for ages, the reinstalled the executable, but to no avail.

 

Any help would be appreciated

Do you reboot the PC after the patch ?

If no, do it.

I've rebooted many times. In the meanwhile I found out that the PC doesn't freeze completely. After about 10 minutes of total unresponsiveness, the game throws following error message:

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED

The screen goes black.

 

GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070

Driver: 471.68 (latest available)

 

I've tried the registry fix, and reinstalled the GPU driver to no avail

There's a GPU driver un-installer called Display Driver Uninstaller.exe i used once successfully,

try the 471.11 drivers, with my 2080ti it fixed some isues i had, the above tool was not needed

Roll back your GPU driver a few releases and see if that helps

 

Never update GPU drivers if your current ones are working properly

That message is the solution to avoid a blue screen with windows 10. When the GPU crash, windows disconnect the GPU and load a generic driver.

 

So, maybe your GPU is dying, something can interact with the driver on your PC, or the driver has a problem.

 

As other suggest you, roll back the graphic driver.
