Collector planes in career mode?

Hi! 

Is there a way to get to fly collector planes in career mode? Like the Yak-7b or the LA-5 FN.

Both planes are available in the Battle of Kuban career.

Every single flyable WWII plane is flyable in career mode.

It does occur to me that the descriptions of the Collector Planes in the story could do with making it a bit clearer what module you need to fly them in career mode. It is clear for some of them - but not all of them.

So when starting a new career and selecting a squadron, are the planes presented there the only ones I'll fly in the specific squadron? For example selecting a squad with yak-1 only, I wont get the option to fly any other, not even the yak-1b?

 

And yeah, I'm quite new to the career mode. ?

Correct, if you don't own a plane, you won't be offered the option to fly it.
