Future plans for Tank Crew?

S!,

I'm starting to get into TC and loving it. Unfortunately, I haven't heard any word recently about future TC developments. Can we expect more tank models or anything else?

It would be a shame to stop development on TC. It has great potential to be something very special for tank minded people :)

Definitely.

If Flying Circus is getting a second installment, then Tank Crew should also get a second installment.

I'm convinced it will happen. First, we're still seeing some work done by the third party developers who did the modeling. They are doing the Sd.Kfz. 10/5 Flak 38 Collector Vehicle right now and if I remember the dev diaries correctly, Digital Forms is also doing vehicles for Normandy right now. I think they want to stagger projects a bit more than they did when they announced Bodenplatte, Flying Circus and Tank Crew at the same time. So once Normandy is closing in on completion they may announce and spin up development on a new Tank Crew title.

I think it will happen!

I have to take that partially back. It says "a development partner of ours" and everything looked so good that I figured it was Digital Forms. Perhaps not.

Aaah... but I believe that these are only vehicles created for the plane part of the game on the next Normandy map ... they are not intended to be playable it seems to me, from what I understand ...

the answer is obvious ... if think about it

.....Now!

C'mon Devs, no WW2 tank-sim is complete without a playable StuG.   Preferably a StuG III Ausf. G,  since Tank Crew is centered around the mid-1943 period of the war.

Even if you offered it as a 'Collectors Vehicle" I would gladly buy it.

Thanks.

Give us a StuG, devs!

I would like to see some churchhills, fireflies, stugs, jagpanzers, etc; I could go on and on, but I'll be happy with just a small note that TC isn't forgotten and we can expect more great vehicles in the near future.

One thing that I know would help the servers that use a combine scenario would be the ability of the mission designers to disable the "spawn point radar" system that's currently in the game. For some people, the inability of disabling causes "airquake" type conditions because most tank spawns need to be near the front lines. For me, it doesn't make much difference, but there are servers out there that are very reluctant to add tank spawns to their missions because of the "airquake" fear.

Small note: I've noticed that when I drive all the way back to spawn repair my tank and then leave the game, it counts as a death in the game. Something's not right in TC respawn.

I wonder if the developers can tell us how many new TC players there have been since January.  Definitely on Finnish the tanker player base is growing.  It seems like more people from the WOT/WT ranks are discovering it.

When I build my tank missions I always set the vehicle description to NOICON, for those that do not know, this prevents the icon from showing in the game (doh!) so enhances the element of surprise even if one of my squad mates is not using the icon mod we have (planes get icons but ground units do not, just to confuse things I tend not to have flyable planes in my tank missions).

Anyway, back to the point I was trying to support, having the number of nearby enemy units at the spawn icon does detract from the "fog of war", so being able to turn it off would be a great addition in my eyes.

No tank sim is realistic without (at least AI) infantry.

Yeah but if infantry was added we would need more server slots and I dont think they are able to accomodate that.

I bought TC pre-release out of support, and never realized i would like it. How wrong i was.

Now with the GAZ A truck it's even better.

But i really would like this to see this baby to go tank-hunting:

Early Jeep prototype, never fielded.

My future plans for tank crew are to learn how to turn the turret.  Maybe get it in gear.

And a targeting gun-view sub display would be nice while driving your tank looking at it in arcade view:

shoot the damn tiger up it's a** while driving circles around it in a Sherman etc.

@Hand - If you need some pointers in getting the basics set up, drop me a PM and I will walk you through it.

What we need is fixing basics bugs such as turret bugs, sherman armor, invisible trees, 152 he blocked by foliage, vehicules being destroyed at spawn before the player can even control it...

Being killed at spawn is more a server designers choice than game related.

Not if you wait 5-10 seconds for the game to load while your tank can already be shot at.
