Pict Posted July 27, 2021 Posted July 27, 2021 (edited) So I recently upgraded my hardware and have been going through the mammoth task of setting up IL2BOX from a fresh install. Which so far has been worth every second as things are running very nicely, so nice it's like a whole new take on things. However, in an effort to speed things up I copied my old inputs folder over from my old install and that went just fine up to a point. I had an old issue resurface where without any input from me, IL2BOX resets the zoom(s all of them) to the default mouse wheel. Which is annoying as I use the mouse wheel for other stuff. This has happened repeatedly and happened in the previous install, so it. not a new problem and one that has a fix even if it's a little bit of a nuisance. ========================== There is a new issue that has popped up that I have no solution to as of yet and that's what the thread is about, the rest above is just background info. Starting a Quick combat mission in the cockpit, my gun trigger on my joystick which is mapped to fire all guns initially works. But after a bit of flying and finally getting a firing solution nothing happens when I pull the trigger. This is every time. After a bit of frustration a somehow found that if I go into external view and squeeze the trigger the guns fire. Then back inside the cockpit they work as they should, Very odd and not so handy especially online where I won't have access to an external view as a quick fix. =========================== So, anyone else run across this little probmem before now and have a solution? Pict Posted July 28, 2021 Author Posted July 28, 2021 I figured this out after a fair bit of testing to try and eliminate it and getting nowhere It wasn't JoyToKey etc...the answer as it turned out was within the question I posted above...as is so often the case, So I took the plunge and removed the Input folder and started from scratch. Lot of work, but it seems to have cured the problem.
TCW_Brzi_Joe Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I reinstalled windows a few days ago, and I had backup for IL-2 (input folder, lua scripst, tracks, and startup.cfg). The only thing what I didn't directly overwrite from backup was devices. txt in input folder. The codes in device names are slightly different after new install. I used a new file, and only changed first number of every device, i.E. 1.....joystick, 2......hotas, 3.....rudder. It is important that renumbering be same as before. I do not know if that can help you, but I do not have such problems. Ps: If you make mistake with that file, just erase it, start game, and you will get a new, clean file. 1
