Advice on Monstertech table mount and extensions

Hi!

Im about to buy Monstertech table mounts for my Warthog (stick and throttle). I am also planning on buying an extension for the stick. But I have a few questions:

 

- Since Im planning on buying an extension, should I buy a long version of the table mount for the stick and a normal version for the throttle? Is the long version adjustable so it works also without extension?

- Is it working well using the Monstertech stick mount in a centered position (between my knees)? Im flying in VR, and its very confusing not having the stick in the center. 

- What extension length do you recommend? Is 100mm a good choice?

Can’t speak to the mount, because I have a different one.  Concerning extension though, by 10mm, I assume you mean 100 mm.  Yes, I think 100mm is the perfect extension for the WH if you have the vertical space for it.  You probably want your elbow to be resting on your lap, so as long as you can adjust the height of the mount, the height of your chair, and possibly the height of your computer to get comfortable ergonomics, you’re good.   These things seem awfully expensive for an aluminum tube and a little extension connector, so I can say that even the 75mm is good for fixed wing aircraft, but if you ever plan to do choppers in flight sim, probably get the 100.  I’m also pretty sure that you can combine extensions, so if you got a 75 mm and later on decided it wasn’t enough, you could just get an additional one.  But I have a 100, and am very pleased, so that’s what I think.

Yes get the long mount for the stick and the standard mount for the throttle.

 

That is what I have, my Gunfighter Mk III Pro is on the long mount, my Virpil CM3 throttle is on the standard mount. They are fantastic mounts btw.

I am using a 200 mm extension on the stick. The mount is highly adjustable, so if you get 100mm you can adjust to the best height for your needs. Same with the standard mount for the throttle.

Do you find 200 mm good for il2? Not to long?

I will affirm dburne's positive spin on the 200mm extension. I also have the VKB MKIII with that extension and the MonsterTech long drop mount and this setup is one of the two best additions to my Hotas ever. I fly in GBS and WOFF PE so far and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SETUP! I have flown in, and actually controlled/piloted a dual control 1941 Stearman and this is as close to that RL experience as I could expect from a Hotas. For me, the long extension is awesome, but maybe it is not for everyone? Good luck with your decison.

If not sure one could always get both 100mm and 200 mm extensions, and see which they like best and sell the other one.

In either case you will want the long Monster Tech Mount for it. It is highly adjustable.

So, I ordered a 100mm extension. We'll se if it's enough.

Just thought I would report the result. 

Got the Monstertech table mounts yesterday (one regular for the Warthog throttle and one long for the stick). The are 15% off right now, by the way. I also installed a 100mm extension and the green spring (from Sahaj) in my Warthog stick. And I love my new setup. All of a sudden I became a better pilot, it´s much easier to aim. 

But I cant help thinking, would it be even better with a 200 mm extension? Maybe I have to order one at some point...

Told ya so!!! LOL, it is awesome having a longer joystick. Now that lingering thought of, " should I have bought that 200mm extention?" will slowly drive you abosutely mad! Your gonna have to do it to save your sanity. It's self preservation, go ahead push that 'complete order' button or face the padded round room!

And a floor mount, plus a higher quality i.e. more expensive HOTAS...
