@RNAS10_Oliver and @RNAS10_Mitchell are pleased to announce that together we have created No.10 (Naval) Squadron as a new virtual squadron in Flying Circus. We are now seeking new members to expand our group. This squadron has been born from the desire to see that the Royal Naval Air Service gets represented in Flying Circus. During our sorties together we wish to strike a mix between working towards Entente's success in the mission (or at least ensuring the Huns failure) and preserving our own virtual lives. Due to being based on the Royal Naval Air Service and No.10 (Naval) Squadron the aircraft that our efforts are going to be focused on for now are the Sopwith Triplane and Camel.

Our current criteria for potential members are;

  • Microphone required due to the use of voice communications.
  • Fluent enough in English for members to understand each other.
  • Minimum age of 18 is an unfortunate necessity.
  • Content to use a name that sounds like a plausible real name.
  • Have an amiable personality. Enough for us to get along together.

If you are interested in joining the squadron or have any questions give one of our members a mention in the public #discussion channel on our Discord.

Charles Bertram Bell

The historical No.10 (Naval) Squadron of the Royal Naval Air Service was formed at Saint-Pol in February 1917 as part of the rapid naval aviation expansion programme required by the Royal Naval Air Service's commitment to assist the Royal Flying Corps on the Western Front. Command of the squadron passed from Charles Breese to Charles Bertram Bell (pictured above) in April 1917. And the predominantly Canadian pilots then established an enviable reputation in their Sopwith Triplanes. Later the Triplanes were traded for the Sopwith Camels from No.6 (Naval) Squadron upon their disbandment in August 1917. October saw the squadron's unscheduled return to naval control after a refusal to carry out the Royal Flying Corps orders, this would remain the case until April Fools 1918 when the Royal Naval Air Service and Royal Flying Corps amalgamated to create the new third force, the Royal Air Force.

Just reposting a bit of recruitment propaganda (artwork by @=IRFC=bbob) for the Entente side in the Black September MP campaign.
