HI, Just noticed recently flying in company with both friendly and enemy a/c that the plane I am flying [me109 G2] feels and looks sluggish, there is no stutter just a slow motion effect ?.  I have flown the same 109 by its self and all looks normal ?

Nvidia Geforce GTX 1616super graphics

8 gig ram

would it help if I increased my memory from 8 to 16

Cheers

Absolutely.

What cpu and board?

Thanks, CPU= Intel[R] core i5-2500K 3.30Hz - 3.70Ghz

              Board= Gigabyte tech - Z77X - UD3H

If I could just get away with replacing my memory sticks would be by far the cheapest option !

Cheers

With that ancient cpu, you are going to struggle in il2 with slow downs...

No problem. To summarize, ram will help, but with a sandy bridge i5 it you will still struggle.

Thanks again, I shall perhaps consider replacing my motherboard which will take DDR4 memory sticks and also upgrade my CPU chip

Cheers

Have a very slightly used MSI Tomahawk Z490 motherboard with a Intel i7 10700 Kf fitted that I briefly tried before going down the AMD path with a 5800x.

Ping me if interested, was thinking about $400 AUD for both which is under half what I paid about 9 months ago.  Used for about a month and never over-clocked.

Don't expect to completely solve this problem. It's a well known issue (time dilation) with the game. See below for more:

So a good CPU will help to an extent. I thought my Ryzen 5 5600X would help and it does but I still encounter the slow down effect. I use 32 GB DDR4 RAM running at 3000 MHz.

I run 3800 mhz ram on my 5600x with cl15 timings. You're leaving a ton of performance on the table with that slow ram.

Is that stock frequency? Mine is running at stock, not sure if I could push it that far. I didn't pay top dollar for the RAM ;)

No, overclocked. These chips can run 4400mhz, but my infinity clock can only run 1900 mhz.
