What is the current state of coop play?

Hi all, although I've owned this game for years, I have not flown since Forgotten Battles on Hyperlobby, where I flew under the name illegalBeagle. I found that while dogfight servers were ok, I much preferred flying coops, where there was an objective to acheive. So since I'm new, can anyone kindly explain the current state of coop multiplayer please?. I presume there is no equivalent of hyperlobby? Are all multiplayer  servers accessed from in game or are there others out there. Every time I look at the in game multiplayer coop servers it's completely empty.

its mostly empty, some squads run their own coop nights but its nothing like it was with hyperlooby on il-2 46.

If you have some kined of lobby where you could see whos waiting for coop to start maybe there would be more action, as thats how things get started in hyperloby, ppl chat and wait for someone to start coop mission and then it get populated, here you dont have lobby so no one knows whos waiting for coop, you just check and see what on and you need to be lucky to be checking at that exact moment some guys decided to start mission, no wonder its empty most of time.

Also check if you have mods on, if you have you can only see mods on hosts.

Combat Box, Finnish, and Wings of Liberty are dogfight servers with objectives to achieve.

@Bruiser If you are looking for regular co-ops, why not stop by the DangerDogz. We run co-ops on Tuesday and Sunday evenings (UK time approx 20:00 on Teamspeak from 19:30 for dogfight madness) plus your avatar will fit right in

 

We also have a strong North American / Canadian group which may suit your time zone better. We already have DD_Sheriff from Australia who plays with the group. They play most nights.

Thanks for the replies guys, I agree that hyperlobby seemed to work very well for coops, pity there's no equivalent or improvement.
