How does "Team points per round" work when hosting multiplayer?

Been trying to host a mission and found the mission finished earlier than expected because I guess we lost to many points. I had the team points per round set to 1000000 thinking we would never run out but it doesn't seem to work.

 

Is there a max setting you can set so you don't have to worry about your mission finishing early if you're having a bad nights flying and get shot down a lot ... doh!

 

I'm hosting from my own sim not a DS.
