Uriah Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Will there be a full mission builder? I played around with the one for War Thunder and found it fun to build a mission.
SCG_Neun Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) Uriah.....you must have missed all the fireworks on this issue.....But if you do a search you'll be "enlightened". When all the dust settled in the forum it was decreed that a complicated ROF style FMB will be available prior to release to a select cadre of MMB's (Master Mission Builders). Then after the official release the FMB will be available to guys and gals (don't want to leave the chicks high and dry on this) like us, but as I understand it on a standalone basis with no support other than some really great tutorials that are out there currently for the ROF builder. So............if you want to brush up on how to make missions for BOS....and you have ROF....you can study up and be ready using that FMB and the tutorials. Edited June 24, 2014 by JagdNeun
Uriah Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Thank you JagdNeun. I only causally read the forums so I must have skimmed over this. Glad to hear that it will come someday.
SCG_Neun Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 NP Uriah....It doesn't hurt to ask, especially if it save you time. If it was a problem....I wouldn't have answered....
bigchump Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 I made hundreds of missions / campaigns for IL-2 and a few for CLOD and would love to get my hands on an FMB for this game. How do I get it?
DD_bongodriver Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/6429-full-mission-builder-discussion/page-1?hl=+full +mission +builder 1
bigchump Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Thanks DD: I read the posts you linked and ain't very happy after doing so. And that topic got locked... They should release the mission editor to anyone that wants it. That's my two cents worth. 2

BeastyBaiter Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 It's a brutally complicated builder. Never really learned it for RoF and I made tons of COOPs and DF missions for IL2/FB/PF back in the day. Some of them were fairly complex too, I pushed the limits of what that FMB allowed. I can understand them not publically releasing it atm due to the nature of it. They do not want the forums filled with questions on how to use it at this time. I'm not saying I agree (or disagree) with the decision, but I do understand it.
1./JG42Nephris Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 Well even those who got their way into the fmb, got no chance for an application to get the fmb as it is, which is ashame. That decision cuts squadron lifes at first, but I guess squadrons arnt the target audience, so their game their decision. 1
BeastyBaiter Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 It is best to take this for what it is, an open alpha/beta. If you accept it won't be fully usable until the official release, everything is a lot less frustrating. What we have now is nothing more than a preview of the finished product. If they said there will never be an FMB, then yes, that would be something to complain about. But they haven't said that, it simply isn't available to us atm. Consider the FMB (along with MP hosting options) to still be in closed testing.
startrekmike Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 As annoying as these threads may be for some, as meaningless as it may seem to those who have no personal interest in a FMB after release, threads like this still serve the purpose of reminding the dev's that there is a demand for it, I understand that it has been decided that a FMB will come a bit after release (however long that ends up being) but it is still something that I have some concern about since the future is always uncertain. 3
1./JG42Nephris Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 (edited) What makes me even more concerned, as all your points are valid,I know similar statements from the Rof forums. "A proper fmb will be developed and released later on", we know that never happened. A fmb is half of the game for me, as several further developments are dependant to it. Like squadron life, e.g. intern testing maps, training maps, Wars, sth like coop play, as by far not everyone likes those airquake stuff offered on RoF servers. Custom missins, as the singleplayer was not announced to be the most decent expiereince (just my interpretation of the news). Plans for public flying schools on BoS were cancelled for now, which were a massive pilot generator for Il2 1946 back in those times. Well, I posted all that arguments a few times already, and it wont get any better the more I post it. However I just dont trust in the statement " we will release a better one in fututre", and it is even more annoying to know there is a perfect working fmb. But as said several times, their game, there buisness, their money and time to invest or maybe not into things, which make sense or maybe not. We dont need to agree with it. Somehow I can understand the financial aspect, but then again, there is already a War Thunder,World of Warplanes and whatever, which then again is for free. I seriuosly start to bore myself in repeating already said arguments, so enough for that topic now. Edited June 24, 2014 by 1./JG42Nephris
dburne Posted June 24, 2014 Posted June 24, 2014 As a single player, all my hopes are hanging on whatever they are going to offer in terms of a campaign/career mode, plus on whatever can be developed by the community that has access and can work with the FMB...
Gambit21 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 The sim isn't even released yet, and a 3rd party map is almost complete - I wouldn't worry too much about user made missions and such, even considering the complex FMB.
Essah Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Is there any official news on when we might see FMB released?
