Panzerlang Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 To have a configuration option that forces ALL planes that have a gunner to be novice only? It's the only way I can think of to deal with the broken gunner AI, that they (gunners) are both nigh-on un-killable AND absurdly accurate under what should be impossible conditions. It's possible to deal with in the WW2 setting, the weapons available are effective from long range and off-angle attacks at said long ranges do meaningful damage. In the WW1 setting the same can't be said, which has now forced me to stop playing FC (being forced to totally avoid Bristols is a step too far re realism/immersion). TIA as always.
PatrickAWlson Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Short version - yes. I would not do it via config. There is already a section of code that does this for most multi-place machines, but some are excluded because they are also fighters. 1 1

I'm guessing that's why the difference between WW2 and WW1 in the CG is so obvious then, with the Bristol being a fighter. The IL2 and Pe2 have way more variety in their gunner abilities and have never been as bad as the Bristol.
