Sometimes this stuff blows my mind.

One gets used to everything and anything over time but every now and then a combination of VR graphically and aurally spectacular events really does leave the jaw hanging. Camels, Albatrosses, Bristols and gawd knows what else, wheeling and tumbling, tracers and smoke trails, then an Alb collides with a Camel right in front of me. Both go showering down in bits, then a chute streams from the Alb. Shortly after that and the Bristol I'm chasing, while hearing the whumping of rounds from another Alb smacking into it, sets on fire. I'm so close I can clearly see the gunner standing bolt upright in the rear, returning fire even as the flames flare around him. All at 6.30am, the rising sun painting the sky and ground like a Thomas Cole landscape.

F**K! but this sim is something else. ? ?

For me it’s a game of two halves graphically. Yes in the right scenario with some lovely lighting and action the game can look great.

On the other hand in the cold light of day it ‘can’ (not always!) look well… I’ll just go ahead and say it ‘bad’. The ground can have very low resolution textures, 2d pixelated grass and some very basic building models. I have been spoilt by the graphically superior MSFS 2020 and DCS though which correspondingly run my gpu harder.

Hmm. The devs were stoked when they implemented the cool chute thing into the WWII modules. Hey let's give the coolness to WW1 they said. To every Central flyer, by a company called NeverFail. For historical accuracy.

Maybe if they hadn't there'd be fewer collisions?

Yes but of course the game can look gorgeous. :) Sorry for the hijack but well ... too late now.

So true, I expierence large differences between maps regarding the resolution textures. On one map it is really stunning, on the next the horizon and objects all shimmer and are not clear. And this using  the same settings on my pc, graphics-card,  Steam-VR and game-settings. I wonder what causes these different visual outcomes.
