TLDR; Saitek X45 hotas, free to a good, preferably a starter, home.

I have recently acquired a VKB base/grip, and have a workable hand on throttle while I wait for new options on the market, so I decided to pay my X45 forward to a fellow sim pilot that’s either in need of a hotas setup, or just getting started. The only requirement I have is you pay shipping (from zip code 20910), and I hope when it’s time for you to move on, you pass it on and not make a profit out of it. Not that there’s any profit to be made on a 15 year old Saitek X45.

My hope is for this thread to be used as a way to pass on the equipment and/or IL-2 related things, etc., to new comers and others, and perhaps in time it can become a sticky for others to post their items that they want to pass to others.

Now, the good, Saitek X45 is a well constructed, dependable hotas setup with quite a lot of buttons and axes (4 on the throttle). It has served me well since original IL-2 (IL-2, Forgotten Battles, Pacific Fighters).

The bad, stick movement gets grippy with a hard detent at the center and needs graphite/powder lubricant every 5-6 weeks. Also equally annoying, main trigger spring gets dislocated every 2-3 months and one needs to open up the stick and reseat the spring for trigger to return to non-pressed position. If one has a soft touch, the above should not be a problem, but since I have the graces of a great ape, I seem to press the trigger and it gets stuck until I wiggle it out with my trigger finger.

if you’re interested, let me know and I will try to get it shipped this week. As I said, it will be shipping out from zip code 20910, and I can ship USPS/UPS/FedEx as you prefer.

I have a buddy who has il-2, wants to play with us online but has not been able to locate/fund a new stick (his is  a 10 year old hand me down that is basically broken). Can I claim it for him? I think he is registered on the forum @=AW=Trajan72.  I will happily pay for shipping so it could be gifted to him.

It’s his if he wants it.
