vx111vx111swift Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 why are the guns so low in volume . Or am i doing something wrong. I have the sound volume 100 percent. Engine sounds are fine. or is this the way it is. Other sims the sound is somewhat more realistic . Not complaining just wondering. 1
BlitzPig_EL Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Actually the other sims have the gun volume turned up to "Hollywood". The sound pressure levels in the cockpits of WW2 fighters were extremely high for starters, and the pilot is wearing a headset of some sort over his ears to be able to hear his radio over the din of the engine and airflow noise. Hearing the guns in the cockpit is much different that standing outside the aircraft on the ground and firing the guns. 1 3

I've never fired aircraft guns in real life before but I am not sure if hearing the guns at all is really historical. I think I've read pilot accounts where they 'feel' the guns firing but don't hear it. 1
