All mission files were placed in \data\missions directory. I also attempted to place them in a separate folder. Temporary cashed files were deleted. The most that I get is that the game identifies the folders, but not the contents.

Thank you

May you put your mission here for checking.

The editor does not allow to paste the files

Put them in a zip file.

Open the mission editor, and use 'Tools, Resave all missions in folder' and point to Data\Missions.

Depending on the number of missions in that folder, this action may take a while to complete.

I used it with your mission, and after the resave, it does show up in game, under 'missions', and is playable.

Good Luck.

The Fw-190 A3 is a collector plane, do you own it? Apart from that, the mission looks correct on a quick glance.

I've had similar problems. What sometimes works is opening the mission in notepad and copy-pasting the entire contents to a different file.

On a side note, the player's callsign should be spelled "Falke" not "Falce" and translated as "Falcon" not "Hawk" ;)

Thank you for the feedback.

It seems that the missions have errors and are not read by the editor.

Can you please give me a sample mission, very simple single mission with a dogfight that can give me a benchmark to work on the editor?

Thank you

Do not try and open/load the mission file in the mission editor!

Start the Mission Editor, and use 'Tools, Resave all missions in folder' and point to Data\Missions.

Here's the re-saved version of the mission you uploaded earlier.

The same problem. The game does not read the mission file, but reads a folder the contains the mission.

I do not understand what you are stating now.

What is the result of 'Tools, Resave All missions'? (Pointing it to the folder where the problem mission file is located)

After this process has completed, what does the mission editor report when opening one of the missions?

Does the mission editor open the mission I uploaded correctly?

Oh wait, when you want to run the mission it still does not show up?

So the one marked below does not show up for you?

Mission does not show up.

I did Tools, Resave on the mission again, but it does not help.

Have you tried to put that mission in Data\Missions folder? Like in my screenshot?

What are the names of the subfolders you created in there? Could it be there's some weird characters used in the folder names?

(Weird stuff this, lol)

Mission file is fine. The game shows only missions in the software bought.

No problem for me after deleting the msnbin, opening the mission and save it.

Dis you resave the mission, or download the one from DD_FT, and use that one ?

Where do you copy the mission files ?

Give us the path you use.

It should also show folders you've created there.

So, it appears as if the game looks at a different location than where you've placed the mission files.

The mission can be loaded with the Editor after the Resave.

The one marked by DD_FT does not appear.

If I put it in a directory, only the directory shows.

Maybe I put the files in a wrong path

Currently, it is in:

\1C Game...\IL-2...\Data\Missions

Well, if the directory shows, but not the mission, well, then I am at a loss here...

I created a folder named 'Custom' under data/missions, and put the mission file in there.

It shows up like this:

Strange, try to create a subfolder in the mission directory like that :

E:\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\Missions\Debug\Rafib

and put your mission in.

Missions provided in the software are not accessible?

They do show up once the folder has been clicked:

Yes, I got this. Question is if I put my missions among the system's missions I would know if there is a problem with my mission.

Posted

As far as I know, you cannot add to the system's missions, other than just create a folder in Data\Missions and put the mission files in there... the game automatically displays them - but, that does not seem to work for you  :(

Now, the mission I uploaded is a correct one: It does show up on my system, so it should on yours as well!

Could it be the Windows 10 folder protection, where you think you add the files to the folder, but Windows puts them somewhere else? Programdata folder?

Thanks a lot for your efforts.

I have all the simulators and mostly do mission editing? Never had a problem with Windows.

I guess I have to brood over the issue.

Did you try this:

As I said, I've had this problem a number of times. A mission which seems OK but doesn't show. For some reason, once the game has decided it cannot load a mission, this seems to get stored somewhere (not even deleting the cache works). When creating a *new* mission and then copy-pasting the content, it sometimes starts working again.

You can try resaving it through the editor with a different name and deleting the old file.

Get rid of the - symbol in the name, sometimes symbols cause issues.

Then delete the mtreecache file.

Maybe better be more radical. De-install and clean up all the IL2 files and directories.

First do a backup copy of your mods, custom skins and missions/campaigns.

Then do a clean installation again.

When things start to look weird I generally do this and after all is fine.

This is true when you have many updates piling up. A clean reinstall of the last version from the website is better.
