Team Fusion ATAG_Pattle Posted July 4, 2021 Team Fusion Posted July 4, 2021 Hi all, Here are images of the Spitfire cockpit as we move closer to VR implementation. Our artists are busy working on 3D components of aircraft so VR uses will have the best visuals possible on launch. Work shown in these images focuses on the throttle, trim wheel, fuses, cables, cable clips, bolts and chains. All images WIP. As we progress, we will share more images of this very exiting development of the Blitz and Tobruk games. No date has been set, as we are still in early development. Regards, TFS Team 27 3 3

354thFG_Drewm3i-VR Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 I just want to say this looks very good and keep up the good work. The 3d work here looks on par with Great Battles which is a huge compliment because CLoD excels in other areas where GB does not (damage modeling, effects, and even cockpit lighting). 5
=RS=Funkie Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Very exciting! Are these elements currently 2d in the cockpit?
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted July 4, 2021 Team Fusion Posted July 4, 2021 2 hours ago, =RS=Funkie said: Very exciting! Are these elements currently 2d in the cockpit? Some of the original aircraft from the first Maddox games release of CLIFFS had cockpits which were a mix of 2D and 3D. (mostly Spitfire/Hurricane... these aircraft were built first... the 109's and others which were built later in development were full 3D) TF did not change the aircraft with hybrid cockpits for BLITZ. So we need to re-do these 2D/3D cockpits so that when VR is released, they will be all 3D. All the completely new aircraft for TOBRUK were built by TF with full 3D cockpits so they don't need to be changed... also aircraft like the Beaufighter which had added cockpits for BLITZ were built full 3D by TF... it was only the previous developer who did the hybrid cockpits. All the new aircraft for TF 6.0 are also being built with full 3D cockpits. 10 2 1
=RS=Funkie Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Very interesting! Happy to hear that not all the plane cockpits need to be reworked for VR compatibility. 1
Voyager Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 Very much looking forward to this. I had enough problems with the original game on release that I ended up not playing it much, and by the time I found out about Team Fusion, I'd already switched almost completely over to VR, so wasn't really able to play it. Once this goes live, I'm definitely doing a Battle of Britain campaign, then a Torbruk one, as soon as I've wrapped up my WWI run. Very looking forward to it. 4 1
BM357_TinMan Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 I've held off of this title only because of the lack of VR. When VR goes live, I will most definetly buy the Torbruk and whatever is needed to incorporate VR 3 2
AFsparrow1968 Posted July 9, 2021 Posted July 9, 2021 (edited) Dear developpers, really happy of your work on VR upgrade. I have a reverb G2 and allready fly IL2. I think your sim will be perfect and will have more and more success and sells. You have clickable cocpit and exceptionnal theater and also very specific A/C (desert, channel).VR will be amazing with your sim!!! Cannot wait for that?Congratulation for your great work Edited July 9, 2021 by AFsparrow1968 2
BM357_TinMan Posted July 13, 2021 Posted July 13, 2021 In anticipation, I went ahead and bought Tobuk....I was going to wait but figured, why not throw them some dollars while they develop what I'm waiting for. 3 4
BBAS_Tiki_Joe Posted July 28, 2021 Posted July 28, 2021 I would love to be apart of testing when VR hits the alpha/beta stage! Extremely looking forward to this! 2
Blitzen Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 Will we be seeing similar images when all the other CloD DW aircraft are being converted for VR? Just wondering...? 1

I can't speak for TF, but reading between the lines I get the sense vr testing is right around the corner. I think it is possible we will be in beta by year's end.
-332FG-Hank_DG Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 How would one go about being a part of testing VR once it's open? (Assuming there will be a testing phase)
Strewth Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 I have owned CoD and CoD Blitz since they were released. I have recently bought Tobruk in support of the said upcoming VR and really looking forward to it. I have already used VorpX on both 1946 and CoD Blitz, but in Blitz, the FOV is way too narrow and not adjustable. Great effort TF and looking forward to it.
blockheadgreen_ Posted September 23, 2021 Posted September 23, 2021 Seeing as the Spit cockpits are being updated, is there any possibility of the correct later model (Mk Vc/Supermarine production) windshield being implemented on the Mk Vb (trop)? I can imagine this also applies to the Mk Vb (late) models too. Spoiler Of course this is just one example, but all Mk Vb trops of Supermarine construction (and indeed all Mk Vs since even before the commencement of production of the Mk Vc) featured the improved windscreen. Much the same as all Supermarine-produced Mk Vs, they should feature the same de Havilland prop as the Mk I. If the in-game model represents a Mk Vb trop of Castle Bromwich production, then the current Rotol prop is fine. However the Mk V trop model and Vc windscreen were introduced simultaneously in CB production in May '42, and as such it should be in such a configuration. Another nice correction would be the implementation of the square Mk II* gunsight on these aircraft. I had seen on the ATAG forum that these inaccuracies were known of, but the models were kept in line with the standard early Mk Vb model to hasten development, and would be corrected for TF6. It would be super cool, and a nice change of scenery in the office, so see some of these changes at some point! ?
FTC_Passion Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 I predominantly fly bombers. I have poor vision in my right eye that can't be corrected with glasses. Does this mean I will not be able to use the luftwaffe bombsight if it is monocular?

An option to project it on the other eye would be nice. Edit: posted a totally unrelated answer… doh Edited November 9, 2021 by 9./JG52_J-HAT 1
FTC_Passion Posted November 9, 2021 Posted November 9, 2021 (edited) Exactly. The A-20 rear gunner in BOX is monocular in VR and is unusable for me as the gunsight is through the right eye. Edited November 9, 2021 by FTC_Passion

Sitaro Posted February 7, 2022 Posted February 7, 2022 I have not been on this area of the forum yet because even though I have owned the game for quite some time, I have never played it. It was too cumbersome. But with VR, I am very excited to try it. Thanks for all the work. I am sure I can not even imagine how much work it was. The detail looks stunning.
