jollyjack Posted July 4, 2021 Posted July 4, 2021 Was trying to get Vridge + Riftcat 2.0 to work with an android mobilephone headset. Pfff; doesn't really work and the they want you to pay 15 Euros to get beyond 10 minutes time limit? With IL_2 i only saw the boot screen hangar's dancefloor sofar, and the it got stuck. ======= >So the BIG Q: anybody experienced with Riftcat 2.0? Also has anyone tried iVRy for an android mobilephone headset?
chiliwili69 Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 I have not experience with Vridge or iVRy. But just curiosity, having in the market "affordable" PC-VR devices, What is your reason to use those less-optimum mobile solutions for a serious sim like IL-2?
jollyjack Posted July 6, 2021 Author Posted July 6, 2021 Curiosity i already have a good android phone, cost effectiveness? high end VR stuff is quite expensive ... It seems that Android 11 is hard to setup right and get the graphics properly through from my NVDIA's USB C connector.
chiliwili69 Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 I see, could I ask how much your good android phone cost? My current personal phone is a Palm Palm, quite handy. It cost me around 250€. Sometimes I don´t even notice it is on my pocket. I could have bought the Iphone12 mini for 950€ but not really needed. Instead I have a Valve Index headset (539€) and my lovely Palm Palm.
jollyjack Posted July 7, 2021 Author Posted July 7, 2021 About 370 euro's for a OnePlus Nord. Meanwhile i had it working; you'll ALSO need to set "Mobile Hotspot" to on both for PC and Androidphone, besides USB tethering.. I tested a VRi Evolution s3, connected to my NVIDIA's USB-C port. SteamVR, needed, grrrrrgh. I just sent the VRi back: the view i had with FC was looking through some narrowish binoculars with a very low res, spotting was awful. Besides 'checking your six' was not very comfy for my old neck. But it's nice to look around. So i was not very happy with the results. Maybe a highend VR set is better, but also i missed the accessibility of the PC's keyboard functions. Would like to try another system too, but right now i don't want to give up on trackIR. Where you using Riftcat-Vridge? test time was 5 minutes; so i tried the iVRy system instead. .
