1CGS BlackSix Posted July 9, 2021 Author 1CGS Posted July 9, 2021 The production of the campaign can be started long before the completion of work on the aircraft, if it is possible to find its analogue in terms of flight performance. There are unique planes like Hs 129, U-2, Ju 52/C-47 etc, but there would be no problem for fighters.

But I can't let the player control Yak-1b or Yak-9. These are collector planes that are not included in any our set, and I need the campaign to require only the standard version of the Battle of Kuban. More difficult conditions (BOK + any collector plane) will severely reduce campaign availability and sales. Most likely, this time it will be "Blazing Steppe" sequel) Honest question here, could you make the player plane to be optional? Say, I own the Yak-1b, would it be difficult from a mission builder PoV to be able to select the plane on the mission map screen, and have the option to pick up a CP? The performance difference between the Yak-7B s.36, Yak-1b s.127 and Yak-9 s.1 is close enough to allow it, I guess (especially given you are already planning mixed flight for the Birds of Steel and this campaign). 1

There is no such option to select an aircraft in a campaign. Also in the briefings it will be mentioned that you are flying Yak-7b. And if the second is most likely not a problem, then it still cannot be done.
jeanba Posted July 12, 2021 Posted July 12, 2021 (edited) Then it may be possible to have three times the same campagn, one for each plane ? I think this would help selling both the campaign and the collector planes and for the Yaks, given their proximity in performances, the extar work should not be that high Edited July 12, 2021 by jeanba 1 1
1CGS BlackSix Posted July 12, 2021 Author 1CGS Posted July 12, 2021 I think this will be marketing hell for the publisher and logistic hell for me. See how it looks. I want to start the Yak-7 campaign on May 6th. Yak-1s began to appear in the regiment only since May 9 and didn't take part in all missions that I want to show. Yak-9s were available in very limited numbers and also didn't take part in all missions that I want to show and they need completely different briefings. These are 3 different campaigns.
1CGS BlackSix Posted July 16, 2021 Author 1CGS Posted July 16, 2021 Hello everyone, Voting is over and you've chosen Yak-7b campaign: Campaign development will begin in August, following the Steel Birds release, and will end next year. Thank you all for participating in the discussion! 8 2
Luger1969 Posted July 16, 2021 Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) Yak 7....a worthy winner winner...the hunchback returns. In that form always for me the soviet take on a hurricane. Edited July 16, 2021 by Luger1969
jollyjack Posted December 9, 2021 Posted December 9, 2021 (edited) Boring, mentioned several times. In real life any pilot must be happier flying long peaceful flights without any mayhem. Now when you sit in the easy chair looking at a computer screen, as such after 40 minutes this chair becomes uneasy; IMO that's far too long. It's a game, and meant for 'fun' . BTW I love it when a mission is programmed well, and you van use 8x timescale to get past the boring parts quickly. Edited December 9, 2021 by jollyjack
