I would like to thank Finkeren and post a video

I would like to thank Finkeren. Last night, I went onto multiplayer and my poor LaG-3 was shot out of the sky. I then remembered what Finkeren wrote about keeping the LaGG-3 very fast and using her roll rate to good advantage. I adjusted my tactics, so as to keep my machine between 400 kph and 500 kph. I had much better results. Thanks again, Finkeren!

Here is a video of my staying fast in the LaGG-3. last night:

Wow... ....thanks for the kind words. :salute:

From the video it seems like you handle the LaGG a good deal better, than I can do myself, not to mention your situational awareness. I know it's not the same thing looking at a video, but there were times when I thought: "How the Hell did he keep track of the 109 there?"

Good flying and you lured the 109's in so many mistakes... you should have killed them instantly... :)

Hey, well done. Two many 'friends' at your party  ;) but you really had fun with a couple of them. Next time get more girlies  .

BTW, had the 109 pilots clearly get your flight pattern - steady scissors - they could have get a good shooting tactic just by 'sitting' in the center line of your manouvers and letting you pass through the river of bullets every 3-5 seconds, no?.   I would have done that should I be clever enough to see it as I go.

Thank you. I have tracks of better stuff, too, all thanks to your lessons. I did get killed last night, but it was because of a controller malfunction and not a failure of your tactics. The guy behind me had previously downed seven fighters in a row, but did not manage to get a single hot on my LaGG-3. I have thankfully not had to use this tactic against an expert shot, but I am grateful to actually have something that can keep me alive, when dealing with persons in my own skills range.

Aye, a better shot in a better plane is certainly going to force me to do, "S!" a whole lot, but at least I have a chance against persons in my skills range, now. Before, I was just getting pawned in my LaGG-3, daydreaming about a La-5FN.

If I could shoot, I would have, but I unfortunately have the shooting skills of a Star Wars stormtrooper.  :) The guy I took the snap shot on actually lost his wing, but I was not aiming for his wing.

LaGG is a very good plane!

for what ive seen in the video remains me of the 190 which is not so bad turning if you keep the speed high

Yes! I was  thinking about that, myself. The Fw-190 should be exceptionally well adapted to this sort of situation, probably the best machine for this. I was also thinking about a future Pacific War add-on. I think that the Wildcat will be able to effectively defend against a close in Zero, using high speed and roll rate to good advantage.  :salute: MJ

I have to add, that evasion maneuver that Finkeren described works really well in a drag and bag. Today, Trias saved my behind. If it was not for Finkeren's advice I would not have lived long enough for Trias to show up, but boy does Trias come through. Trias shoots a whole lot of planes down and he saves more than a few LaGG-3s, too. I have to post a video of Trias saving me. It was super awesome.
