Escape From Tarkov... (EFT)

Dropped into the 'customs' area around Tarkov. Right from the start you are on edge... no idea where the enemy may be. Scav Raiders are loose in the area and are already picking people off. You have to find an exit point, you have no compass, no waypoints to follow, scavenge or loot anything you can as you try to find a way out. Tension is high along with a deadly threat that can kill you at any moment... Can I make it out?

This is Escape from Tarkov... at times brilliant, challenging, yet frustrating and will have you on edge from the minute you start your raid. I'm new to the game, still not sure what I'm doing, using a downloaded map from the internet to try and navigate myself to an extraction point which is always at the other end of the map from where you started.

No compass, no waypoints, when you look at your map you are vulnerable. When you are searching a body or equipment you can be picked off at any minute... If you are giving yourself first aid it takes time, and again you are extremely vulnerable.

This is no run and gun shooter... be prepared to be killed, a lot! The odds are always against you, and yet, I keep coming back for more punishment...

Love this game, although not played it for about a year or so.  The games can be very tense and most of the time I'm just trying to make it out alive with a bit more equipment than when I started as I'm always afraid of running out!!

I think I have 3 kills of other players though so far.  Loads of scavs but not so much the actual players so far.

I might load this back up again and see how it is now.

Tense is the word... So far I've only made it out once and that was as a scav, lol!

Today the 'Big Wipe' arrives... everyone's progress is set back to zero and it all starts from scratch again, not that I had much to loose as it happens  :alcoholic:

AH cool.  Last time I logged in I had been reset so not been back as I wasn't sure how far in from the previous wipe was.  Might join again.  Will have a look at what's changed

For those of you who haven't tried Escape From Tarkov yet, watch this video... it just might convince you to go out and buy it...

The lack of a compass or waypoint system is what really amps up the challenge, but it also forces you to learn the maps in a way that makes every raid feel like an accomplishment, even if you barely make it out. Navigating Customs for the first few times feels like you’re just trying to survive until you know the layout.

If you’re new, it might help to stick with a basic loadout until you feel confident navigating, since dying with tons of loot can be brutal. And yeah, a map is essential at first—there’s no shame in keeping one open nearby! There are also some tarkov cheats out there, though personally, I think part of the thrill is surviving the old-school way, knowing every choice could be your last.
