ubik_2008 Posted June 24, 2021 Posted June 24, 2021 I recently started a career with the Tiffie and I noticed that most AI wingmen return to base with almost complete ordnance, or half rockets shot at the best. That happens after a "mission critical objective achieved" is issued and even if I repeat passes on target several times. I am pretty used to poor cooperation from AI wingmen during aerial combat, but not attacking ground targets is new to me and seems pretty weird. Is it just me?

There was a previous bug for other planes where AI wingmates wouldn't drop their bombs. Fixed in a previous patch, but seems to have been re-introduced on the Tiffie. It's possible the AI is having a hard time handling the rockets with their attack routines. If you have a track of a mission where this happens I would submit it in the thread so they can examine it and figure out what logic isn't working. Or in the stickied AI thread.
1CGS LukeFF Posted June 24, 2021 1CGS Posted June 24, 2021 (edited) What's happening now is the Mission Complete message is being triggered more quickly now on ground attack missions. When that happens, the AI stops firing at ground targets and starts flying toward the next waypoint. The trouble with that is that the AI is still prioritizing AA guns, so often the mission is tagged as complete after just a couple of AA guns have been destroyed. Edited June 24, 2021 by LukeFF
ubik_2008 Posted June 24, 2021 Author Posted June 24, 2021 ...which leads us to the next AI bug, i.e. wingmen not following the leader's orders? 1
