On 16th October, Anton Hafner destroyed four VVS bombers, two IL-2s and two Bostons, his 199 to 203 Abschusse, passing the significant milestone of 200. Two days later, shortly after bringing down his 204th enemy aircraft, Hafner was KIA during a low level dogfight with a Yak-9 when his plane hit some tree-tops and crashed. Anton 'Toni' Hafner was the top scoring Experte in JG51 Molders.

I started doing this skin after seeing a piece of art by Ivan Berryman as I liked the picture.1446462592_aH8.jpg.da20533dc884555069576b50e0c917c5.jpg

Then I came across another a profile by Claes Sundin and started reworking it.240792616_aH10.jpg.66fd115601f9f9df30240f2221ccb234.jpg

I also noticed that this G6 had the tall tail and switched to doing a G6 Late. After doing that I came across an actual B/W photo of the aircraft and started reworking it again.

And now having enlarged the photo I can see more differences but I'm not sure I want to rework yet further as I am losing the will to live and missing the football. So here is where I'm at so far and think I might leave it as is because it has a nice oily and grimy look which I like and hope you do too.

There were a couple of niggles with the camo I wanted to fix so here is (hopefully) the last update.

One of the first things I noticed. The Sturmovik although blurry looks exceptional. I think it might be my next aircraft just for that reason alone. I like the camo, the black nose and the cockpit shape. I never really appreciated how great it looks. That's the thing about art - it can show stuff from a whole new perspective. Good spot! ?

Well done Flowbee!

        Another Flowbee collectors piece

Thinking of maybe doing the Sturmovik next or even just one perhaps, you say.

Judging by the excellent skins and designs for the sturmovik, 1943 model, I first got off the Russian Forum, that would be worth waiting for.
