While trying to adjust and use a joystick button key setting to do so to get my  'headsnap back to centered' and VR settings in Camera settings, I must have combines the two commands & now have my head centered BUT no longer can I "lean " back & forth or right and left. I'm trying to resist hitting the "default" settings button as that will default all settings. Can someone give me an idea of which settings to examine & change ?Thanks!

Hi

Have you try to reset the seated position in wmr? Or just unplug the vr headset and replug again. When I change from IL-2 to Rfactor2 playing I have to change my position and I get simular problem like you. To fix it I just unplug the cable and then replug it and when wmr staring up my new position works.

Go into Mixed reality software, there:

1) delete the playspace environment and room data.

2) re-setup the playspace borders.

P.S. You need to find the correct English terms, my software is in German.

I think this is the culprit Somehow I was picking up blue boundary lines in game play ( even tho I had turned them off quite awhile ago..) I hit "Clear environment" and perhaps this is where my troubles began?

Yeah clear environment data, then redo the boundaries. :)

As SCG_Fenris_Wolf has pointed out in his settings thread, using any WMR device you should always start up iL-2 as follows:

Start-Up Sequence

1. In Windows, open Mixed Reality Portal

2. Put on headset, let it recognize the room

3. In Steam, start SteamVR, then your game

Failing to do so may put your head locked in a center position.

Clearing environmental data is a brute force solution.  Effective yes.
