cardboard_killer Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 [80 years ago today] "• The Bf-109T enters operational service. Built by Fieseler for aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin, 63 of the 70 production aircraft are completed as the T-2 version without naval gear such as arrestor hooks as construction of the carrier was suspended in 1940. They are posted to Norway for airfield defense where their short take off capability is useful. Bf-109T-1, note arrestor hook." 2
ITAF_Airone1989 Posted June 17, 2021 Posted June 17, 2021 Was a naval version? Did she even operate from an aircarrier?
Vig Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 IIRC they also had a Stuka variant with arrestor hook ready to go. I have seen unit insignias for these intended carrier groups, but does anyone know what sort of camo was planned?
von_Tom Posted June 18, 2021 Posted June 18, 2021 (edited) These were also used from Petsamo. There are pilot reports in Black Cross Red Star 1 about it not being as good to fly. von Tom Edited June 18, 2021 by von_Tom
JG54ironNoob Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 I just wonder if it is able to outturn SpitMk.I/II, since it expanded the wing area.
