You thought the Hispanos were good, let me introduce you to the 17 pounders on the Sherman Firefly. Thanks to the famously chummy cooperation between the Royal Army and the Royal Air Force, it's possible to synchronize the pilot's firing button with the firing of the tank crews. Fritz won't know what hit him when a pair of tank shells hit him at convergence from a mile away!

TIL that the British Army doesn't technically have the 'Royal' moniker. Poor blighters wading through the mud. without the Crown patting them on the head. Hell even a middling Canadian political comedy show gets to call itself Royal. 1 1

I remember reading something related on the naming of some of the Corps in the British Army that was “mines better than yours” sort of banter. There’s the Royal Corps of Signals and Royal Logistics Corp etc and with these it’s just the Corps that are Royal. Then there’s the Corps of Royal Engineers, the Corps is not Royal instead each and every Engineer has been made Royal in their own right! Guess you could say the same thing. The Air Force and Navy are Royal while the Army is not. Instead some of its Corps, Regiments and each and every one of its Engineers are Royal on their own right. ? Edited June 16, 2021 by Oliver88 2
Diggun Posted June 16, 2021 Posted June 16, 2021 Why are the British Army rugby shirts red? - To hide the blood. Why are the Royal Navy rugby shirts blue? - Same reason. 6

I've met a few engineers, pretty sure they all believe in their own royalty. /I kid, engineering friends
