Interesting documentary on the night bombing campaign.

I really enjoyed this. Lots of interesting little details and a very good insight into just what a massive logistical undertaking it was launching those big raids.

I live in Bawtry. I pass Bawtry Hall every day. Didnt realise it had any involvement in the War, especially bomber command. And the airbase RAF Hemswell is just up the road.

Look at all them heavy bombers! What an incredible sight of beauty to see these big wing formations taxi and take off.

I hope we'll see a new heavy bomber sim at some point. Flying a heavy bomber is just a completely unique experience and it is so much more than flying from point A to point B. Those who have seen Band of Blennies know what I'm talking about ;)

Some of it was crap and overdone (sound effects) but otherwise it was utterly, utterly, poignant, thought provoking and dare I say it, the best of British.  Not propaganda, just real people going about the business of war and all the effort that lay behind the term "Just another OP".  Thank you Finkeren I hadn't seen that before and as someone who's Grandfather worked in Bomber Command during the war it was very moving.  Maybe it was simply the use of colour made it so much more real and not so very distant.
