Request: horse-drawn transports

Type of improvement: Historical accuracy
Explanation of proposals: Horse carts as AI vehicles
Benefits: Horse-drawn transport carts were used in large numbers in WW1 by all belligerents and in WW2 by the Germans and Soviets (in case of the WW2 Germans, a popular number says that 80% of all transport was horse-drawn). It would therefore be a great contribution to both products currently in development, i.e. FC2 and BoN. It would also improve historical accuracy as completely mechanized transport columns (the current situation) would be a relative rarity both in WW1 and in WW2 Germany.

 

Models for both horses (including dead ones) and carts already exist in-game, so rigging and animating them is all that's required (and then create the vehicle itself and damage model, but in my experience that should be relatively simple in comparison).

 

Please note that it may well be that you already have such plans, as AFAIK no AI vehicle lists have been published for FC2 or BoN. I just thought I'd request it nonetheless, as that way you may at this point still be able to sneak it into the development timeline, which won't be the case if I wait until after release

lol, would totally purchase it.

 

But alas.... the only game I've played that gets at least the feeling of horseback riding somewhat right (and I'd expect something similar with horse wagons) is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Other games don't even get close.

The only problem I see with this is with the actual "DM" of horses.  PETA and other animal rights groups would blow a gasket over this, as would several members of this community, though it's OK to send virtual humans down in flames.   Actually that is quite gratifying.

That's called emancipation. In the past, we could only shoot down white, middle-aged men. Since a couple of updates ago, we can shoot down white, middle-aged women too. Horses are next in line to join the ranks of those able to get shot.
