I recently came across this brilliant piece of artwork on the web and wanted to give it a go. I think this skin has been done many times before but better too many than too few.

When the war ended Krupinski had amassed 197 confirmed victories recorded in 1100 combat missions. He had been wounded seven times, bailed out on four occasions as well as surviving numerous crash landings. Krupinski was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves (Ritterkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes mit Eichenlaub) on 2 March 1943. He was also presented with the Wound Badge in Gold (Verwundetenabzeichen in Gold) in January 1945. Krupinski was one of the first to fly the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in combat as a member of Jagdverband 44 led by Adolf Galland.

When looking at the B/W photo I noticed that the number was bigger, in a different place and that there was an underspray covering up a previous number? Here is an update if anyone finds it concerning.

Same question and same answer. Have you found any winter patterns for the 109's that are particularly interesting? I just skim through hundreds of photos on the web and stop when I find something that catches my eye. Winter camo tends to be just roughly applied whitewash. I think it might be interesting if it has partially worn or washed off. I will have a more specific look.

Maybe something like this...

Good choice because they are the ones I’m working on ?. The Hartmann skin is looking really good so far, to my great surprise as I tend to avoid winter skins.

A lot of credit for that goes to ICDP who was involved in making a good template. I wish I could say the same for the G2 (not done by ICDP) which needs redoing. I have spent hours on trying to improve it and it is still not finished. I hope the F2 is ok. Krueger made some great templates but for some strange reason went off script and tied them into non-conforming custom bumpmaps. The panel lines and rivets are essential in trying to make a decent skin. I am using Krueger’s template for the G2 and then using BHH’s template to identify what is misaligned and trying to cobble the 2 together all of which is incredibly frustrating and time consuming. Sorry, I appear to have strayed off topic and started rambling again…  ?
