MiloMorai Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 http://white1foundation.org/ We wish to inform our web visitors of a major change with the White 1 Project. We have recently sold our Focke Wulf Fw190 F-8 "White 1" and our Fw190 D-9 to the Collings Foundation. The "torch has been passed" and the Collings Foundation will complete the restoration of these historic aircraft and return them once again to the sky. Our heartfelt thanks goes out to all our members and friends of the project that have supported us over the years. We truly appreciate all your support. Rest assured that your contribution will allow future generations to appreciate these historic artifacts. Further updates will be posted here as they happen. For the time being, it is a period of transition as the project changes hands.
AA_Engadin Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Thanks for the heads up, mate. That's good news as it implies a better future for those true jewels - I love Kurt Tank's babies - and sure Collings Foundation's experts will keep it up to the expectations we all have on this extraordinary project. S! AA_Engadin
JG52EvilMerlin Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 The Collings Foundation is a decent place for them. I'm lucky enough to know the Pilot (and his son) of the B-24 and B-25. As for the Collings Foundation experts, they really don't have a whole lot of experience with the German birds other than the Storch which is up here with us in Massachusetts. I'm willing to bet I know a lot more about the Bf 109 and Fw 190 than anyone on the staff (I wrote most of the entry on Wiki for the Fw 190, Me 262 and Me 163). I was looking forward to going up in the Collings Foundation Me-262 but they have had so many issues with it over the years.
