ringwraith_jp Posted June 5, 2021 Posted June 5, 2021 Hello! I've been playing with PWCG for a while now. And I noticed something odd with Spitfires added as AIs. On every mission I play that there are Spitfires, at least one of them will shut its engines shortly after the mission starts (I use air starts) and plane until it crashes. Only seems happens to Spitfires on PWCG, so Im thinking this might be something related to fuel settings on the mission files. I've seen this three times already. On the first, Spitfires were my escort, two of the flight of four simply shut its engines and crashed at the start. The second time they were doing CAP over an area I was going to attack. Now, the third time, they're doing ground attack were I'm patrolling, they fire their rockets into the horizon and shut the engine down until crashing somewhere over the horizon. Really weird behaviour.
PatrickAWlson Posted June 6, 2021 Posted June 6, 2021 Please post a mission. First I have heard of this. Aircraft fuel is pretty generic. By default. planes will fly at 100% from takeoff or 60% if they spawn in the air to emulate fuel burn. Only a few planes with large tanks fly with reduced fuel and the Spitfire is definitely not one of them.
ringwraith_jp Posted June 6, 2021 Author Posted June 6, 2021 This is the only example I have saved. Its a P-51 mission. Once you get closer to the mission area a pair of Spitfires spawn. One of them, the one carrying a pair of rockets, immediately shuts the engine off, fires the rockets into the distance and bail out. Happens every time I test this mission.
