Simple message for Devs <3

When I go through the forum I have the impression to see a lot of people complaining and often in an unjustified and sometimes ungrateful way (especially when we see the surprises and the work you do).
 

I'm not saying that you shouldn't complain when something goes wrong, quite the contrary.

But I just want to put some weight on the GOOD side of the scale
 

So if you have a simple and kind word, do it ❤️

Those unjustified and derogative comments have a bad impact on the community. I was influenced in the past and for quite some time I didn't try the TC because I though it was not worth the money. I'm glad I changed my mind and bought it.

 

For those that complain too much, tell me how many game companies you know that update content released more than 5 years ago and are always making all kind of improvements they can, even for things that I haven’t seen anyone complaining like the ballistics on high altitudes announced on the last version?

 

IL-2 is the reason I'm playing on my PC again, after 15+ years.

For the rest, I can see where it come from, some believe they bought into the francaise by spending 20 bucks here. But others do have legit claims to make. What you see most of the time , is passion

The game by itself is incredible and a work of art in some aspect. A shame most people don't get the thrill of simulations!

there's no perfect product for everyone thus there will be always complain anyway whether it;s a game or whatever the product might be

man, i had the original IL2, and a bit silly but i bought il2 as it was easy on the steam store, then i found this site and BOOM, bought most of the collector planes campaigns, and expansions from here, now I'm a big long DCS player but i really don't like there work ethics but that's another story, i really love this game and when i get more cash will be buying what i got on steam again on here, just as support, so from me its a huge thumbs up, love your game

Good quality constructive criticism based on intelligent critical analysis is always beneficial when the input is expressed in a positive manner. Whining and derogatory comments done in a purely mean or negative manner without including any thoughts to how solutions may be found or considered is just plain useless and does not contribute to the community in a healthy way. I for one am extremely happy with the current state of flight sims in general, especially IL-2 GB, and consider us all fortunate that Jason has such a talented team working on this great sim!

 

Yeah, there is always room for improvement and we should not be afraid to contribute our concerns or thoughts on how we would like to see the sim improve, but let us all bring those ideas or concerns to the devs with a bit appreciation for how difficult coding this stuff out must truly be. There will always be trolls lurking about, but we don't have to follow their example.

I agree and disagree.
Agree to the fact that these developers are great. I love all the constant updates, and most of all I like the huge input device support for this game, it even supports a console controller! I am playing mostly with my dualshock 4 controller on a 55 inch TV. Who would think that this is a possible in a simulator genre? 

I disagree because compared to other game communities\stores this community is not that bad and I rarely see any complaints honestly.

 

Also I love the 1C publisher, they mostly have great games with good devs, I remember when I was young and played Death to Spies, I have suggested in their forums to add a feature and in their next game they have added it (my suggestion was that if you get enemy uniform that has a higher rank then you can command lower ranked enemy soldiers in the level. Its like "Hitman" game, I highly suggest it to any one that did not try it yet)

As a general rule, when someone does things right we don't say anything, and when they do them wrong we yell at them, I just suggest to show some positive words to read. (you know? things that make you feel good)

I played on Finnish server today and I had a blast! the tanks, the AA truck combined with planes and transports to resupply airfield is so much fun!

With the community writing on chat like Monostripezebra having fun with the AA truck is very entertaining.

I am so grateful to be in and be listened by the devs.

They are doing a fantastic job to please us-the kids who always want new toys.

Every steam community is toxic and full of trolls. You have millions of users there who have easy access to any forum they want to troll today.

I recently brought a new pilot to the il2 world.. not only il2 but to combat flight sim in general.. 

they being a real world pilot, jumping into a ship in il2 had no time getting the feel for a few of them..  

started out with basic air to ground pounding, turned to air to air, then had a few forced landings, and finally our last sortie was pk’d from our six’s

 

said it was the funnest flying ever done!

 

and this is the sim that’s kept me going since I could remember

 

so thank you devs !

I think the general tone here is pretty positive, and criticisms are healthy because the devs actually read them and respond.  I don't mean the flippant derogatory opinions, but actual issues and concerns that have been slowly addressed and fixed over the years in a very steady development, and it's mainly down to the civility and knowledgebase of most people here.  It's wonderful.  I wish RoF had been the same way... if you didn't go through that (constant tribalism and arguing over things that were never going to be fixed) you have no idea how nice this is in comparison.  The amount of cool facts and tidbits that come up in sometimes unrelated discussions are part of what makes IL2 so fun... a bit like when you build a plastic model, part of the experience is researching the plane online for reference and getting a much better 'study' of the plane than just the process of building it.  

 

I mean I just learned that dozer tanks were used in Normandy to simply bury bunkers full of germans, in a thread about Typhoon rockets.

I have a VR headset, a throttle, a joystick and pedals - all for this game.  Hours of enjoyment and I have not even scratched the surface (as me to take off in a duck or level bomb in anything ... not happening, at least not yet).  

 

Was in a fight yesterday.  Flying the 110 with 1000KG of bombs that I wanted to drop on something useful.  Tried to help out my escort but no chance.  The Ratas just kept zooming and keeping away.  Got pinged a couple of times and had to drop.  Exhausted my ammo to little effect.  Still flying but with more than a few holes in the plane.  Sure, the Ai can always get better, but the improvements are so noticeable.
