von_Tom Posted July 18 Posted July 18 (edited) Smokey on the left is very shy, unless she is dopey, hungry, or wants to be in your arms in the middle of the night (usually when she is cold but I am warm and asleep). Smog on the right aka Thug the Moth Muncher (or, depending on the time of day, the Butterfly Butcher) is just a killing machine. The last time I woke up she was devouring the innards of something next to me. I have no idea if it was a bird or rodent, but I managed to plead ignorance about the remains and blood stains everywhere so I managed to avoid having to clean it up. von Tom Edited July 18 by von_Tom 10 1

Lusekofte Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Turning 60 this year and finally found time to get a dog. Always wanted one, bigger the better. But my job always prevented it. Now we bought a mixed rase small dog meet Stitch 11 1
Enceladus828 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Honouring Smudge on what would have been his 20th birthday. Don’t know exactly when he was born but it was always celebrated around this date. How Smudge came into many people’s lives was on a mid October weekend in 2005 my mom was working at a hospital doing miscellaneous jobs when someone told her that patients in the nursing part heard an animal outside. She walked out and found a 6 week old black kitten all alone on the grass draped in a blanket. To this day we don't know who originally owned him or why exactly he was left there. She brought him inside, gave him water and then phoned my dad at home that she found a cat all abandoned so we took him to the vet where the doctor determined he was a few hours from dying of dehydration. After we brought him home I wanted to name him Squeakers because he constantly squeaked but my mom decided on the name Smudge so we went with that. What really set Smudge apart from other cats was how much he loved us. Whenever Smudge snuggled with us or we cuddled with him -- even when he was sleeping didn't want to be disturbed-- it always made us feel happy. Even after my sister started school she was really afraid of the dark and it made her cry but Smudge would get up from where he was and go into her room which made her happy. I would say, "Smudgey to the rescue" A wildcat next to a Wildcat (he would like to scratch us except for my mom). Smudge almost always was never a people cat -- whenever someone came over he would hide under a bed; he did get along with neighborhood cats in his early years but when the original ones left he wasn't fond of the new ones. Smudge, or Puff in this case, having a standoff with our neighbours' cat, "You're not coming in, and don't you make me come out!" We miss you, Smudge. But you will be in our hearts forever ❤️ 8 1
BMA_FlyingShark Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I'm sorry for your loss. Been there several times before. Rest In Peace, Smudge. ~S~
Lusekofte Posted September 5 Posted September 5 Well that little terrorist has had its first trip to our island house. His tiny feet’s seem to be of no hindrance when it comes to hiking in mountains and longer trips. Must say he walks a lot for a 9 week old 6 2
Lusekofte Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Yeah we think his prototype was designed by Walt Disney during the making of Bambi. 2 1
LLv34_Flanker Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) S! They say cats do not miss you or consider you just as a servant. I beg to differ. Usva when I had been away due work for a few weeks…sorry for pic orientation, not my choice. Edited September 28 by LLv34_Flanker 6 1

Usva when I had been away due work for a few weeks…sorry for pic orientation, not my choice. They really do. I was absent one month, had friend taking care of Katzenkorps, and when came home, me and my son were both overly catnized. Since then, Roy has been guarding me every night, mostly lying on my feet and Purri comes more or less regularly to do the same, often making loaf on my chest. Domestic Tigress Ria goes to door every time I put shoes on and looks at me like "you're not going to stay long, right?" 3
Lusekofte Posted Saturday at 01:49 PM Posted Saturday at 01:49 PM Carefully adjusting the puppy to be out for longer trips in all weather. It seems this mix of breeds need a lot of stimulation and exercise. I was hoping for a buddy to go up mountains with. And it for sure looks like that is what I got 5 1
ST_Catchov Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM Posted Saturday at 10:26 PM Stitch sure is growing into a beautiful mountain buddy. You just can't do that with cats. 1
