My favorite pets have always been turtles and cats. Looks like I'm not the only one. Nowadays only cats at home and tortoises can be seen running around in nearby forests. Once while sitting at town center having coffee at one terrace, Testudo Hermanni just walked next to our table. I helped him back to forest, where he belongs to. I was thinking to buy a baby giant tortoise and look if they really can live 150 years. You see, now when I'm on pension and no hurries any more, I have time for that. 1
MiGCap Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 A Testudo graeca, not young anymore and ill, a pneumonia long, long ago has left marks in his lungs. But he is fine after more than four months of hibernation and I hope he stay well with me for many years to come. 1

LLv34_Flanker Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 (edited) S! Friday was a bit too big adventure for our little lady Luna. She zipped out at 6am and the big world scared her, so she zoomed away from the door. Luckily it had snowed so could follow her paw prints and see where she went hiding. Not far, just to backyard and under terrace. All I could was to wait and finally a bit after 10pm she snuck back in from an open window I left open into my room. Ordeal over and she slept on a cozy spot next to my gaming rig. Edited May 13, 2024 by LLv34_Flanker 5 3

GasTeddy Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 (edited) Hello for a long time. I've been dealing with some cat-astrofic things with my latest rescue, Purri, the workshop manager. The original idea was to make her a parking attendant in the front of house. I have there a feeding point and had insulated hut made of an old transport box for a while, where one stray was used to sleep nights. Several permanent eaters, including a dog and one hedgehog. Couple of neighbors also did the same, but suddenly, with the exception of one night stalker and the hedgehog, all the loyal customers disappeared. My barber has five cats. Or so it was. Three of them also disappeared. They stayed most of the time on a yard in front of her shop, where I went to pet them when passing. Later 2 of them were found, dead. We found out there is some mentally ill, probably rat and mouse loving person living somewhere nearby, who spreads poisoned cat food and hates cats, so that's it about the role of the parking controller. I really did not save her for poisoning and agonizing end. Attempts to move Purri upstairs have been pretty interesting, as she wants to play with Domestic Tigress Ria, who has difficulties to accept second female in the house. On the other hand, Demolition Man Roy wants to play with Purri, but his idea of fun game is this: First we bang another with paw to head so she makes a somersault in the air and then, when she recovers her conscious, we start chasing each others. For some reason this is not Purri's idea about fun. Anyway, they've been together now couple of weeks and are not any more trying to butcher each others, so there is some development. Thumps up. Hedgehog having late dinner. Ambush. Roy up, Purri down. Edited June 7, 2024 by GasTeddy Sausage fingers 5 1 1

Btw, for some reason, when I try to like SYN_Ricky's and your posts, I get box telling I cannot add reactions today. Ria thinks it is because there was no tuna in shopping bag. Purri said it is caused by exhaustion and decided to relax a bit, while Roy went to check, if problem is in red plastic bucket. 4 2 1
