Trouble with a 21:9 monitor / 3440x1440

Hi all. In a French-speaking forum there's one guy who says he can't solve a problem: he recently purchased a 21:9 aspect ratio monitor which is set in a 3440x1440 resolution. All games work fine in such conditions but not "Cliffs of Dover": two black bars appear, one on each side of the screen. He says his resolution is properly selected in the game settings and that the full screen option is selected as well. How could he find an issue to this problem? How could he go to full screen with "Cliffs of Dover" on his new monitor? Thank you in advance.
