grcurmudgeon Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 (edited) The attached zip archive has two files in it: squadron_dump.py - you'll need python, but when run in PWCG's Input directory it will scan the Aircraft and Squadron directories and write to the console a list of squadron plane assignments. This will allow you to generate the data yourself in the future as PWCG gets updates for new planes if I'm not around or am being lazy or don't care about the new plane. bos_planes.txt - the result of running this on the PWCGBoS data fc_planes.txt - the result of running this on the PWCFC data The resulting data is intended to ease answering the question "if I want to fly a Yak, what squadrons should I consider, and what other planes will that squadron be flying?" In this case the answer is: yak * Yak-1 ser.69 1941-09-01 - 1943-02-01 * Yak-1B ser.127 1942-06-01 - 1945-06-01 * Yak-7B ser.36 1942-10-01 - 1945-06-01 * Yak-9 ser.1 1943-03-01 - 1945-06-01 * Yak-9T ser.1 1943-03-01 - 1945-06-01 11th Fighter Air Regiment - VVS becomes 812th Fighter Air Regiment - 1943-09-18 lagg: 1941-08-01 to 1943-03-01 yak: 1943-03-02 to 1945-06-01 157th Fighter Air Regiment - VVS becomes 651st Fighter Air Regiment - 1942-08-01 hurricane: 1941-08-01 to 1944-08-31 yak: 1944-09-01 to 1945-06-01 233rd Fighter Air Regiment - VVS becomes 15th Fighter Air Regiment - 1942-03-01 becomes 298th Fighter Air Regiment - 1943-09-18 mig3: 1941-08-01 to 1942-03-14 lagg: 1942-03-15 to 1943-09-17 yak: 1943-09-18 to 1945-06-01 34th Fighter Air Regiment - VVS becomes 273rd Fighter Air Regiment - 1942-03-01 becomes 274th Fighter Air Regiment - 1943-09-18 i16: 1941-08-01 to 1942-02-14 yak: 1942-02-15 to 1945-06-01 Normandie-Niemen Air Regiment - Normandie yak: 1942-08-01 to 1945-06-01 and my final choice depends on if I want to also fly laggs, mig-3s, i16s, and/or hurricanes during my career. It will also show you when the specific models of the plane are introduced and when they are withdrawn. SquadronDump.zip Edited January 29, 2022 by grcurmudgeon Updated zip 3 3
grcurmudgeon Posted June 15, 2021 Author Posted June 15, 2021 Playing my Mig-3 career I noticed that squadrons change names, so the zip and example have been updated with that data. 1
grcurmudgeon Posted August 29, 2021 Author Posted August 29, 2021 Latest updates to the Flying Circus squadrons / planes have been posted.
grcurmudgeon Posted January 29, 2022 Author Posted January 29, 2022 Updated with most recent data, plus I added which service each squadron is assigned to, and the introduction / withdrawal dates for each specific model of aircraft. Note that for Flying Circus the difference between the Royal Air Service and Royal Flying Corps seems to be a matter of dates, the serviceId was the same for these squadrons so I could not differentiate them. 1
