tomcat2200 Posted May 27, 2021 Posted May 27, 2021 Type of improvement: Sanity Explanation of proposals: To figure out where I am in relation to the game products Benefits: I might be able to purchase more if only I could figure it out. I have come to the conclusion that things are a mess. I see new products coming out and there seems to be no way to synch Steam with this site or product. I took your suggestion to purchase directly from you here instead of on steam. It has become obvious that NOTHING purchased here can be linked to the steam account. Every serial number is rejected by steam as being invalid. In the spirit of your trying to create a unified world experience I tried to obtain the whole thing. This ends up being a futile effort. I can no longer sort out what I have and do not have. In particular in the list of license keys in particular the two items I have will not activate(?) for either IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover BLITZ, and for, IL-2 Sturmovik: Desert Wings – TOBRUK. I can no longer sort out what products I may have missing from the collection anymore. There is no discernable complete product list anywhere here, and all of your advertising simply throws in my face a litany of purchases I have already made. Steam assumes I own nothing, and pushes everything as well. I also have a suspicion that the product mix here does not match that on steam, adding further to the product confusion. Someone really needs to sort this out, and if it has already been sorted, then it needs to come out of hiding. I have my list of products and keys and preorders. I have no discernable way of figuring out what else there is. It has become unmanageable. I can't even tell if the game itself knows what I have. It certainly does not list any but a few main items. This is extremely frustrating.
tomcat2200 Posted May 27, 2021 Author Posted May 27, 2021 Yes I saw this and did the link accounts thing. Steam did nothing. None of the products I have purchased have shown up on steam. They don't take the serial numbers either, After nothing linked, I tried to load through the steam window that is supposed to show you how to register an app on steam. It rejects everything as invalid. At least on steam, it shows which apps you already own, but there is nothing like this here. This site keeps running purchase offers for items I already own. It was hard during my first purchase here to get to everything, and I feel like I may have missed something. With new items coming out, It is hard to sort out from preorders and the long list of what I already have. At best it is a mess.
AEthelraedUnraed Posted May 30, 2021 Posted May 30, 2021 (edited) They won't show up in Steam, since Steam has no way of knowing which products you bought (and vice versa, IL2 of knowing what you bought at the Steam store). One of the reasons is privacy regulations, which mean that they cannot just throw customer data around, including what purchases specific people made. They will show up in-game though. Start your game through Steam, as that way the game knows what products you bought from the Steam store. Then, when you log in with an account linked to the IL2 site, it knows which products you bought at the IL2 store. They should then all appear at the top right of the main screen. In short: - Keys don't matter. They are not needed and cannot be used to add products to Steam. - Link your IL2 and Steam accounts. - Start the game through Steam. - All products should show up in the top right of the main screen. I've made many purchases both at the site and on Steam, and for me it worked seamlessly without any required actions from my side besides linking my Steam account. That means that, if it still doesn't work for you, it's either: - Something specific to your particular situation that causes some of your purchases to not be registered, in which case Customer Support should be able to help you. - A user error on your side, e.g. not correctly linking your Steam account to IL2. In which case Customer Support will probably also be able to help you, but we forum uses may be able to offer some helpful advice as well I think in neither case a sarcastic "where am I" post about improvements to your sanity really helps your case, if only because it rather obscures and distracts from the primary issue at hand, namely that some items you bought don't show up in Steam. Dakpilot Posted May 31, 2021 Posted May 31, 2021 As far as I know Blitz and Tobruk are a different product line and not part of linking accounts? (confirmation needed) Cheers, Dakpilot
