I'm brand new to this, so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

I purchased Battle of Stalingrad and Cliffs of Dover BLITZ. I got Stalingrad running fine, but can't find Cliffs of Dover. I'm only playing offline until I get the hang of it, so the Steam access doesn't apply.

Thanks in advance for the help.

They are two separate series. I am assuming you purchased both from the 1C store.

From the store page:

Cliffs of Dover requires Steam to run. After purchase, you will receive a key to activate the game on Steam. This version of the game was updated to run on modern operating systems, including Windows 10.

Log in on the il2sturmovik store page. Then select "Profile" on the top right. Then press "License Keys" and scroll down till you find Cliffs Of Dover Blitz. It is a series of letters and numbers with the word "Steam" to the left. Copy this code, then log into Steam. Select "games" in the top upper bar, then "Activate a product on Steam" and paste this key into "Product Code" after going through all the agreements stuff. This should add the game to your steam library and you can download it there.

?

(edit: btw, Steam has nothing to do with whether the game is multiplayer or solo play offline - you can play it offline just fine even though it is on Steam)

Well....I hate to be that one dense person, but I found the license key no problem, have been to Welcome to Steam (steampowered.com) and have looked until my eyes bled for "Games" in the top upper bar, but can't find it. I did a search for Cliffs of Dover and found it, but of course it wants me to purchase it (again).

Thanks for any additional help and I'll keep trying in the mean time....

I think I figured it out....?

Have you installed the Steam app? You have to use this, Steam games can't be launched via an internet browser. The game will be located under the library tab of the Steam app after you activate the licence key.

Steam app download link: https://store.steampowered.com/about/

I am assuming you bought both titles from this site (official Il-2 store).

Cliffs of Dover (CloD) is a Steam only game. It works different than the Great Battle titles. The latter has its own launcher and doesn‘t need Steam (unless you buy it there). Cliffs doesn‘t have its own launcher.

(I think so much has been clear from the above messages. But now expanding on Cybermat‘s post:)

That means, you need to add the game to Steam. When you purchased it here you got a key for it. Go into Steam, under Library click on the + to add a game. Should be a fairly large icon at the bottom left corner, under your games list. Then select „Add a Steam Game“ and input the key you got here.

This should add your CloD to your Steam account and you should be good to go.

To launch the game I suggest you make a desktop icon for it. It will automatically launch Steam and the game (Steam is always running while CloD is running). Or you can open Steam and run the game from your library there.

Thanks for the responses, guys.

I got it running fine, but am currently pulling my hair out setting up views with my Logitech 3D Pro. I got it working in Battle of Stalingrad, but no matter what I do just cannot get them working in CoD.

The F9 key did it!

I'm still feeling my way along setting everything up. I've been playing Aces High for many, many years but IL-2 is much different where controls are concerned.

 Thanks again,

 Thanks again,

Please take the time to read the 'Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide' in your 'manuals' folder in the main CLIFFS OF DOVER install folder.

Many common errors made by newer players can be avoided with the advice there.  ?
